Tomoe Umari Metal Wallet Update Howdy ya'll! As this was our first time making a Metal Wallet, we ordered samples and approved them before making several hundred. In our testing we took knives to the wallet, but we didn't think to submerge them in water. We've found that prolonged exposure to moisture through sweat, rain, or just general moisture that can happen day-to-day will weaken the printing and allow it to be rubbed off via friction. Photos are after submerging the wallets or running them under 10 seconds of water, and then taking scissors or a knife to them. In order to prevent damage, we recommend using a type of sealant in order to make the printing waterproof. This could be Resin for example, but there's other household goods like Nail Polish that work as sealants (like how hairspray can 'set' a signature!) - in addition to other more traditional sealants available at hobby and home stores. If you want to keep using your wallet and not having it become damaged over time, we recommend using a sealant pre-emptively, especially if you live in a humid climate. As kawa has hundreds of wallets at our warehouse, we will continue to do tests, and discuss with the manufacturer what can be done. They were so expensive to make as-is that we're hoping the manufacturer will give us a discount on remaking them with a sealant applied before the clip on the back is applied, but at this point we haven't even confirmed if they have any sort of sealant option, or alternative printing method. For wallets that have already been damaged, please send us a photo for our records and our argument with the manufacturer- and so we can send out a replacement as a stopgap (as we have about 50 extras currently!) In other news, the Woobies and Knives are both at the port of Houston, it's just a waiting game to see when they'll get cleared and allowed through to deliver to us over in Austin! Hello Umarmy! First of all, thank you for your patience. The replacement wallets are wrapping up manufacturing and are expected to arrive to kawa in the next 14-21 days. (Assuming no mail weirdness!) As there were around ~500 people affected by this issue, it will take us a while to resolve. 1) We will ship out all Arsenal bundles. If you moved recently, please message us via the 'Live Chat' button on the kawa site to update your address! 2) We will ship out all orders that had not shipped out yet, where wallets are outstanding (exe: orders with just 2-5 items mixed together) 3) We have a list of all orders where a customer got a bad wallet in August- you will be E-mailed to ask if you need to update your address, or if you'd like your item combined with a different order (since a lot of people ordered things this month!)
