I really wish hospitals would stop the “we are very busy so don’t come to A&E unless you have to” public messages. Ineffective. Negative. Gives the illusion of ‘doing something’. Potentially harmful. No evidence.

Spend the day apologising to patients that they have to wait so long. This is the currently state of play for our local hospital. Hopefully your condition doesn’t worsen in the 3 years it will take to be seen…if the local TD’s knock on my door I’ll be asking about their plans 😳

This is honestly phenomenal news! RSV affects a huge number of babies every year, and the kids’ wards (and ICUs) admit huge amounts of children with RSV every winter. This could really be a game-changer. I know work on this has been ongoing for a long time, so well done to everyone involved 👏👏👏👏
