the branded desks in underserved schools weren’t enough, now we have the gambling houses doing activations at the schools 🙃 remember when we were growing up and our activations were yogurt, toothpaste, zoos, or kiddie theatre groups? our kids get gambling 🙂
.@WorldSportsBet walked into a preschool classroom, in front of young children, to promote its brand, spin a prize wheel and reward a teacher for having an active betting account. How was this approved? @tumisole @shufflesdu, please help me share this far and wide!

Are Budget, SONA, and Mining Indaba key events for your business? Have you started planning yet?
Let's chat now, before the December break and the January noise.

Agree. How long do we have to wait for these adverts to be better regulated?

A number of people have recently asked me about the late Jeffrey Archer. He was, by a mile, the rudest and most obnoxious person I have ever met. Ever! And I have met a few!
Having been given formal permission for my wife and late father in law to attend the interview at his luxurious penthouse, I was shocked at the tantrum he threw about their presence. He went on and on about it! I cancelled the interview immediately, commiserated with his staff, told him what I thought of his behaviour and we left. In shock!
In hindsight, and being as charitable as I can, perhaps he had just heard the news that he would do jail time for perjury. The news only officially broke months later.
On the same day we had interviewed legendary rugby commentator Bill McLaren. After an incredibly generous and insightful interview for which he insisted on coming to our hotel, he told us his daughter had just been diagnosed with terminal cancer! Not for a minute did he consider breaking his agreement to chat on air.
The best and the worst on the same day.
RIP to them both.

This is a hill I'm prepared to die on.
If you can't fill your stadium for a home ODI against Australia, then you don't deserve to host international cricket anymore.
Yes, Durban, I'm talking to you.

AmaBhungane is deeply concerned by reports that our former colleague, South African journalist Micah Reddy, and his local fixer, Kooki Mahmoud, are missing in Djibouti.
Micah is a former amaBhungane journalist and a valued member of the investigative journalism community in South Africa and across the continent.
We join the Committee to Protect Journalists in calling on the Djiboutian authorities to urgently clarify Micah and Kooki’s whereabouts and ensure their safety.
We call for their immediate safe return.
