For my first post, I’m sharing a letter @NVIDIA signed on why open models matter. AI will transform every industry, power every company, and be built by every country. Open models strengthen safety and cybersecurity, accelerate innovation and diffusion, and enable sovereignty. The world needs both frontier closed models and frontier open models. images.nvidia.com/pdf/Open-W…

A quick thread on intelligence analysis in the context of cyber threat intelligence. I see a number of CTI analysts get into near analysis paralysis phases for over thinking their assessments or over obsessing about if they might be wrong. (1/x)

I’ve had a few folks reach out to me because of some of my employees’ comments in the media and on their social media apparently expecting me to censor them or take some action. Some general end of day stressed thoughts: (1/x)

Oooof. Was just subjected to the most credible phishing attempt I've experienced to date. Here were the steps: 1) "Hi, this is your bank. There was an attempt to use your card in Miami, Florida. Was this you?" Me: no.

In general, users don’t care if your product uses AI, ML, blockchain, or other fancy technology that they likely don’t fully understand They only care if the end product is something they want Don’t upsell your technology as a main value prop Build something people want

The wider your view of #cybersecurity, the less you need to code. If you narrow your view to essentially security engineering, then coding is much more important. My view is that, as a "wicked problem," security is way more than a technical issue, therefore requiring a wide view.

2AM thought: For the last 4 years my family and I have intentionally and with purpose brought chaos to our lives. We became foster parents. For as crazy, heartbreaking, frustrating and fulfilling it has been for us, we could never imagine the outcome we have had this past week

We're coming up on the 10-year anniversary of @assante_michael's CIP-002 letter to industry. What has industry learned and applied since then? Has it made meaningful progress?

Fresh U.S presidential candidate @BetoORourke was a member of the country’s oldest hacking group, which has kept his role a secret for decades – until now. My story is up on Reuters at reuters.com/investigates/spe…, but let me say a little more in this thread. (1/10)
