Permitting reform before Election Day is giving Cowboys 'this is our year' energy. I've said it every September for the past 20 years. Results may vary. They have not. But for real...this is our year.
Sen. Thune made news on my radio show today, telling @jenningsshow that PERMITTING REFORM may get done BEFORE Election Day.
Isn't this like slide one in DHS ethics training deck???
When Corey Lewandowski was at the Department of Homeland Security, he approached senior Qatari officials with a proposal: Hire me on the side. He told Qataris he could help with any issues that fell under the department’s purview, such as visas, and made a similar proposal to the UAE.
Both turned him down.

Herding cats is hard. Herding cats where a third of them want to abolish everything by Thursday is a different job entirely.
What @RepJeffries told me the House agenda will be next year if Democrats win control in the 2026 midterms:
—Reverse Trump’s Medicaid cuts
—Extend expired ACA tax credits
—Restore Congress’s authority on tariffs
—“Decisively” end the Iran war
Beyond that: “We’ve established five working groups on affordability.”
This is exactly the scenario ranked-choice was supposed to prevent — it just moved the confusion from outside the ballot to inside it.
The second Dan Sullivan makes it on the four-person general election ballot in #aksen, CNN projects.
GOP fears Dan J. Sullivan, the retired teacher, will siphon away votes from the senator, Dan S. Sullivan, and give a boost to Democrat Mary Peltola in closely contested race
Two numbers jump out at me: the enormous education gap among white women — El-Sayed +23 with college grads, Rogers +22 without a degree — and Rogers getting 22% of the Black vote. If those numbers are even directionally right, we're continuing to see a pretty remarkable reshuffling of the electorate.
So the pitch is basically: Remember when we locked you all inside and called everyone a racist. Just kidding, bro.
AOC says voters should overlook the "crazy" things today's candidates said back in 2019-2021. The important thing, she says, is to "assess what a candidate is saying now." But it doesn't work that way; you can't erase woke. washingtonexaminer.com/daily…
Just your yearly reminder that Dems haven't won state wide in Texas in 40 yrs.
Asked Jasmine Crockett last night in St. Louis if she thinks James Talarico can turn Texas blue this fall.
“I don't know,” she said.
She doesn’t buy the polls, saying they’ve historically overstated Democrats’ prospects in Texas. “I watch money.”
“When I look at the money, if Republicans start spending money in Texas, then I'll be convinced. But right now, national Republicans decided they wanted to dump money into North Carolina, as well as Georgia. That's where they're fighting, and national Democrats have not decided to dump money into Texas either... I look at: where does the NRSC stand? Where does DSCC stand? Right now, neither one are investing, which tells me that their internals are saying the same thing. So it looks like status quo. I won't get on the ground to really start to feel it until maybe end of September, October, as I start to dig into which races I'm going to help out in, the races that I really feel like we can win.”
Bernie: no serious person supports abolishing police or open borders.
Also Bernie: campaign schedule full of people who ran on exactly that.
Bold strategy Cotton. Let's see if it pays of for 'em.
First the contempt vote...now the phone seizure. He's come a long way from his Vanity Fair days. Over/under on his lock screen password being ‘trust the science123'.

All perfectly normal... Midterms are going to be a clinic in contrasting agendas. Literally all the Dems had to do was sit there and not talk.
Midterms are going to be a real test of whether “big tent” still means electable.

Turns out when you don’t tax everything that moves, regulate the air they breathe, and charge companies for existing… they show up with suitcases full of cash.
Plus the Mexican food is just better.
Texas has replaced California as the state with the most Fortune 500 capital. 💰
Texas’ 57 Fortune 500 companies made roughly $2.8 trillion in revenue last year, compared to California’s 56 companies and roughly $2.7 trillion revenue.

Absolutely legendary stuff from @lindseyvonn. Right there with @RonnieLottHOF's finger and @gehrig38's bloody sock.
Put it on a poster: "My head is high, I'm standing tall, and I'm gonna do my best, and whatever the result is, that's what it is. But never say I didn't try.” LFG. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
NEW: American skier Lindsey Vonn completes Olympic downhill training run after completing tearing her ACL last week.
The 41-year-old says she is going to stick with her plan of skiing at the Olympics despite her crash on January 30.
“It's only been a few days. So if you're looking at it scientifically, you don't lose strength that quickly,” she said a few days after the crash.
“So as long as my swelling is down, my muscles are firing, my strength is what it was a few days ago.”
“I have not deviated from my plan. I've been determined.”
“My head is high, I'm standing tall, and I'm gonna do my best, and whatever the result is, that's what it is. But never say I didn't try.”
