Heading to the desert for a few days in order to support @Aggie_Westons in honour of their 150th anniversary. Thought this would be appropriate reading for the plane journey.

Any Methodist Church planters in Arkport, NY? Methodist Protestant Church for $190,000. My favorite part is how close the front row is to the pulpit. Well within the spitting range.

Formulating hypothesis that despite being tiny, sooner or later everyone in American Christianity passes through @The_ACNA. We have surface area in contact with nearly every tradition. Has there ever been such a heavily trafficked parcel of figurative ecclesiastical real estate?

A proud moment welcoming @HMSDragon home today.
For seven months, her crew have worked tirelessly to defend our bases in Cyprus, protected international shipping, and operated in dangerous waters with real skill and professionalism.

Lt David Hardiman RN has been honoured with the Lady Swaythling Trophy from the @ShipwreckedSoc for his quick thinking in preventing a potentially catastrophic collision between HMS Prince of Wales and a passenger ferry.
Lt Hardiman was OOW while the carrier was in the Tyrrhenian Sea at around 2.30am on 19 November 2025, during the final stages of Operation HIGHMAST. As is routine for warships, the ship was not broadcasting on AIS and was preparing to embark Italian F-35s.
The ferry was seen on radar at 15nm, later identified as the passenger ferry GNV Sirio. Although initially expected to pass safely, the ferry unexpectedly altered course towards the carrier and began closing rapidly at high speed.
Hardiman ordered PWLS to turn to starboard and, as the situation worsened, ordered astern power to reduce speed. The ship was also prepared for a possible collision. Collision was averted but this was a serious 'near miss' as the ferry eventually passed just just 400 yards away.
His actions protected more than 1,600 personnel embarked aboard the carrier as well as the passengers and crew of the ferry.

You might have heard the story of EastLake Community Church in Virginia, where a tent collapsed during the church’s 20th anniversary celebration, injuring 22 people and killing one.
I talked with Pastor @TroyKeaton last week, and he shared with me that a local news station recently did a follow-up story.
It focuses on Nancy Stouffer, whose husband, Bob, was killed in the collapse—and what she did in the hours immediately following his death.
It’s a remarkable story of faith in the midst of tragedy.
It’s worth watching: buff.ly/qG4EV5L
