I'll be forever grateful having been part of one of the most impressive SaaS turnarounds during the single greatest inflection point in tech. From the bottom of my heart, congrats to @eoghan, @destraynor, @ciaran_lee and all the leaders and ICs who busted their asses through the ups and downs to make this happen. Absolute fuckin madlads. Every current and past Intercom employee should be immensely proud of this outcome.
We’re excited to share that we just signed an agreement for @salesforce to acquire @fin_ai for ~$3.6B. The transaction is expected to close in the fourth quarter of Salesforce’s fiscal year 2027. Fin started as Intercom 15 years ago. We changed our name to cap our transformation just weeks ago. We were a darling of the SaaS era and invented so many of the patterns you see in software today. Nearly four years ago, in need of a reboot, we jumped on weeks-old modern LLMs to create and define the category we know as Customer Agents today. Salesforce invented modern software and SaaS. And @benioff is like the final boss of tech founder CEOs. In seat for 27 years, he’s one of the last of his era. Still pushing, pivoting, placing big bets. It’s a privilege for @destraynor and I to get to partner with him and join forces with Salesforce upon close at this most fascinating time. And will be very fun to get their help bringing Fin to magnitudes more consumers. To our customers: Over the past few years we’ve been shipping intensely. Including recently our groundbreaking model, Apex, and our paradigm-defining internal agent, Operator. With the resources of Salesforce this will only accelerate. And yet little will practically change. I’ll still be CEO, Des will still be running R&D, we’ll both still be committed to continuing to lead this category. Thank you very sincerely and deeply for your belief in us. To all of our friends, our families, and our employees, past and present: While this is not the end, it is a major, pivotal, special, and emotional moment for us. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you. For everything. To my cofounders, my exec team: Look what we built. Four young lads with a dream and nothing to lose. And a home grown exec team who pulled off the greatest and arguably only late stage software company pivot to AI, and invented one of the most important categories in AI. Thank you for sticking through all of this with me. And now, time to get back to work. See you at our next product launch in a couple weeks. (:

sometimes I get frustrated using Claude code and unfairly take it out on him only to realize it was my fault, and then I feel bad and need to apologize and feel ashamed of myself

Some of my best ideas die in AI chat windows because I don't have time to turn them into something shareable, but not anymore. @GammaApp is now a native connector in @claudeai so you can automatically turn conversations in Claude into polished, ready-to-share decks 🚀

~2 weeks into my new role at @GammaApp and my first onboarding in over 6 years. A few things I'd tell any B2B marketer stepping into a fast-moving company: Building strategy early comes down to connecting three things: business goals, ICP understanding, and current state. In high-uncertainty environments, doing this objectively, before you have all the answers, is a superpower. The current state piece is underrated. Most teams have a mix of things that work and things that persist on legacy logic ("we've always done it this way"). Nothing can be sacred. Three questions cut through the noise: 1) What works, and what would make it significantly better? 2) What can't be justified — fix it or drop it? 3) What's next, and what do we need to get there? Worth calling out: the unsexy infrastructure work. Attribution, behavioral tracking, tool integrations... They're easy to deprioritize because it doesn't ship a campaign, but are critical to long term success. What's telling is that gaps here aren't a company size or maturity thing. Early-stage and established companies alike can be behind. Without this foundation, your best ideas hit a ceiling. The real skill is finding a near-term path that unblocks you without a multi-month overhaul. Synthesizing all of this into something defensible is where it gets fun (and where I'm reminded how much I love this part of the job).

Waiting for Claude to finish something for me, and I unironically had the thought "how the hell did I do anything before AI?"

I’ve made 26 commits to my first fully functioning web app in 2026! Unimpressive to most, but as a non-engineer who’s never deployed working code, this is mind-boggling. I’m sure the code quality would make real engineers physically ill, but it runs. AI-powered coding is the most fun I’ve had being confused in years. Being able to take a product idea, dial it in, and turn it into functioning software has unlocked a completely new kind of creativity for me.

Packed with candid lessons learned for founders. Well with a read / listen.
Over the past two years we've transformed @intercom from a Saas company to an AI company. It has been exhilarating and energising. It's also been exhausting, hard, scary, and at times brutal. But out the other end we've @Fin_ai , a deep and powerful product, the best AI Agent for Customer Service in the market. We've a phenomenal business. Q1 this year was the best quarter for growth in our entire 13 year history. Q2 beat Q1. Our ways of working are leaner, faster, and more adaptable. We're now set up to win in this new era of technology. Every Saas company is going to need to do this. Including the hard, scary, brutal parts. @eoghan gave @lennysan the inside story on all of it. Highly recommended if you're going through this transition. Link in the comments.

regardless of your opinions on musk, how does this get published? it’s just an objective fact.

people may find this excessive, but if you're working in any competitive, fast paced space and your teams aren't looking for every advantage, it's indicative of an even worse underlying problem

I'll take a step further. Time back to teams and reps is more of an unlock than people understand, especially in terms of benefits for the end user. This time back is going to things like spotting trends for proactive fixes (less future support issues), upskilling on new tech (better CS and improved career paths and employee satisfaction), and driving revenue deeper client relationships (win-win for customer and business). Support is moving away from reactive measures to become a strategic internal powerhouse.
Fin just passed 1M resolutions / week (Up from 600k a quarter ago) 1 resolution = 1 customer query that’s been successfully resolved in the eyes of the customer. Which often requires back and forth and work across multiple systems Using the following numbers from our customer base… If a human rep takes 9.8 mins to resolve a query, and has 5 productive hours a day, Fin is currently doing the work of 6,533 people That’s a BIG team (And with a mean customer wait time for a human response of 102 mins, vs an ~instant resolution by Fin, is saving customers ~111.8 mins of wait time for every query) Please find attached ChatGPT’s attempt at visualizing 6,533 people

i'm convinced it is not possible to build the best product for your customers if you aren't using it yourself and constantly pushing the limits
76% of all of Intercom's customer support requests are now handled by an AI agent (Fin). Pretty wild. AI still feels nascent and yet in some places is doing a lot of very real work too

on my bus ride home I used AI to update our SDR/BDR sales enablement brief in ~2 minutes for a live webinar we ran today @intercom. with minimal (i.e. abysmal) prompting the results were surprisingly great, so thought I'd share the process, and also provide some more detailed behind the scenes insights into the docs and processes we use to enable our XDRs for our webinar program

in case you were wondering why founder-led companies have an advantage. no miles of red tape no month long decisions by committee. direct communication, speed, clarity, decisiveness it feels cheating. just fucking GO.

I mean I KNEW we were #1, but it's nice when other people recognize it - @Fin_ai is numero uno on G2 🚀

proud of this report we just released at @intercom and @Fin_ai we surveyed 1,029 US consumers about their trust and perceptions of AI Agents before and after seeing a modern demo. after seeing a demo, positive sentiment, trust, and confidence in their ability to resolve issues increased significantly. sentiment +20 pts trust +18 pts confidence +25 pts might sound obvious, but the data shows how important it is for people to actually SEE and interact with AI Agents in order for their perceptions to positively change... link in thread if you're curious
