Sometimes, being in the right place at the right time saves a life. 🧡 United Hatzalah paramedic Itzik Kara was driving home from his shift at Hadassah Mount Scopus when he came upon the terror attack on Route 443. Itzik was the second United Hatzalah volunteer on scene and the first advanced life support paramedic to arrive. He found the wounded soldier unconscious and not breathing, but with a pulse. He immediately opened his airway, began ventilating him and provided critical lifesaving treatment until additional teams arrived. That soldier is Neria Leiter, the son of Israel’s Ambassador to the United States, Yechiel Leiter. This family has already sacrificed so much for Israel. Ambassador Leiter lost another son, Maj. (res.) Moshe Yedidya Leiter, who was killed fighting in Gaza on November 10, 2023. Now Neria, who continued serving hundreds of days in the reserves even after losing his brother, is fighting for his life. I’m incredibly proud of Itzik for being there when Neria needed him most.
