My Grandfather taught me 3 invaluable life lessons that have been instrumental in my success in business.
1. Be Nice to everyone: My Grandfather from a very young age has always told us to be nice to everyone because you never know what that person is going through.
Business can be stressful for everyone and it costs you nothing to be nice no matter what is going on at that moment. We are all just humans trying to do our best.
2. Listen before you speak: On many occasions growing I would interrupt my Grandpa and he would always say, "The key to a meaningful conversation is to listen first and speak second. "
Make sure you master the art of listening if you want to build more business relationships and close more sales.
3. Have a great work ethic: Grandpa was a modest man who served in the 101st airborne during WWII. He said the one thing that helped him rise to Master Sergeant was having a great work ethic. He would constantly remind me that the one thing you can control in your life is how hard you work.
In business, if you want to succeed you must work harder than everyone else around you. Let me be clear, working harder doesn't mean pulling all-nighters, but using your time efficiently to complete manageable tasks.
How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time.
I need your help, @marcuslemonis
At RDU Labs, we're building a nationwide tour called The Great Upskilling.
We are in the biggest industrial transformation ever, and our mission is to upskill as many people in the United States as possible to get them ready for this new AI economy.
Here's where we need your help.
🤖 Made with AI
I love X because it pulls back the curtain on the tech elite arguing about nonsense.
Seems like a waste of time, but what do I know?
Both @PalmerLuckey and @paulg have added tremendous value to the world... That's all that matters.
On a side note, if you want your people to become more AI-fluent, hit me up at RDU Labs or send me a DM for a free AI Fluency assessment for your team :)
Hot Take: In business, never trust anyone.
If so, you'll get used and abused.
They call it business for a reason.
The transition to the AI economy will be bumpy for many people.
If you start now, you'll have a good chance of landing smoothly.
We at RDU Labs are here to help.
🤖 Made with AI
Always bet on yourself.
Write this down and look at it 50 times a day, and I guarantee your life will change.
At RDU Labs we have a manifesto called The Great Upskilling.
AI has a PR problem.
AI won't displace millions of workers. It's going to make them 100x more productive in their job.
The challenge is that people don't know how to use these tools, and when you step out of the AI bubble and talk to the average knowledge worker, they don't even know:
What an LLM is
The difference between Copilot and Anthropic
How to change a reasoning model
Write a prompt
The basics of AI
How can you expect them to adopt all these tools that people are pushing inside these businesses?
The answer is simple: the economy is built on inertia. People don't like change, and the best way to get people to change their habits is to show and teach the art of the possible.
That is what we're doing at RDU Labs.
We've trained hundreds and hundreds of people, and it's just like starting a workout program. Small wins equal larger gains. There is no Ozempic for AI, and we need to create routines that create habits, which create change.

How times have changed!
When I became an entrepreneur almost 20 years ago, people just equated that with being unemployed.
I 100% agree with him that we're going to have way more small businesses than we ever had in this world, all doing niche jobs powered by AI
Instead of hiring people, they'll be hiring their business and agents based on certain expertise.

The future of learning is agentic.
People attend the best schools, the best companies, the best master classes because they want to learn from the smartest people in the world.
What happens when the smartest person in the room is no longer a human?
This is quickly becoming a reality, and this is one of our main focuses at RDU Labs.
Stop fighting the future and accept that AI is here.
It's not going anywhere, and it's the future of how we can become the best version of ourselves.
Buffalo....
All we know is heartbreak when it comes to sports.
All the outsiders say we are a city of losers.
What people don't understand is that the heartbreak is what makes this city special.
It unites everyone and makes seasons like these memorable.
Our day will come very soon, and when it does, it's going to be so magical.
Great job, @BuffaloSabres
This young core now understands what it takes to win, and we will be back again next year.

Hey, let’s talk about building AI apps
Specifically, vibe coding tools vs. going full custom.
I’ve been chewing on this lately, and I’d love your take.
Picture this: you’ve got an idea for an AI tool, maybe a chatbot or an automation component.
How do you bring it to life?
𝗩𝗶𝗯𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗧𝗼𝗼𝗹𝘀: think Cursor or Replit Agent
These are like having a genie in your pocket.
You just say, ‘Build me an AI that does X,’ and bam, code appears.
𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘀: it’s fast—hours, not weeks fast.
You don’t need to be a Python wizard.
You just need a creative mind.
I’ve whipped up prototypes in a day that’d take my team months in the past.
Plus, tweaking it’s a breeze.
But here’s the catch: 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀 hit hard when you dig deeper.
The code can be sloppy.
Think security holes or crashes under pressure.
You’re also stuck with what the AI ‘thinks’ you want, so if your app’s niche or complex, it might miss the mark.
Scaling? Good luck—it’s like building a skyscraper on a cardboard base.
𝗖𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗺 𝗧𝗼𝗼𝗹𝘀, though?
That’s you in the driver’s seat, coding line by line with PyTorch or whatever fits.
𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘀 are huge: total control.
You can tune every knob—performance, security, you name it.
It’s built to scale, perfect for big projects like an enterprise AI or something mission-critical.
Plus, you learn a ton, and that’s gold long-term.
𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘀? Oh man, it’s slow—weeks of setup before you even start.
You need real skills, or you’re hiring someone who does, and that’s not cheap.
And iterating?
Every tweak’s a manual slog—no AI fairy to wave a wand.
So, here’s where I’m landing after mulling it over:
Why not both?
Vibe coding gets you a rough draft fast—say 40% of the way. Then, switch to custom to polish that last 60%, making it robust and yours.
I’ve seen it work: prototype with vibe tools, then harden it with custom code when ready to scale or lock it down.
What do you think? Have you ever tried this mix?
Or are you all-in on one approach?

Marriages Built on Alcohol Aren't Built for the Long Haul 🍷💔
Here’s the thing—marriages that lean heavily on alcohol for connection are skating on thin ice. Sure, sharing a drink can feel like bonding, but when the buzz wears off, what’s left?
Real relationships thrive on clear communication and trust, not on foggy nights and forgotten promises. If your go-to bonding time is cracking open a bottle, it might be time to rethink the foundation you're building on.
My wife and I have spent countless nights drinking on the weekends because we felt that was the only way we could have fun.
We both noticed that our marriage was having more bad than good times which made us evaluate what was going on.
Let’s be real: The dependency on alcohol to connect led to communication breakdowns, eroded trust, and a toxic dynamic that was hard to shake.
Relationships are hard enough without the added complication of relying on a crutch that only temporarily holds things together.
We both stopped drinking on Jan 1st of this year and our relationship has never been in a better place.
Our weekends may seem boring to some, but waking up fresh and ready to tackle the day has opened up a whole new world of opportunity and excitement.
For a marriage to last, it needs to be built on solid ground—where trust and real connection don’t need a drink to survive.
A random thought before hopping in the cold plunge today:
When I was younger I always wanted to be a Garbageman because I thought it would be cool to ride on the back of the truck.
Fast forward to today, I watched my garbageman pick up everything from inside the cab and constantly run over garbage bins. Dream shattered. 😂
🌏 Offshoring to India: The Good, the Bad, and the Curry! 🇮🇳
Hey, execs! Thinking about offshoring to India? Let's break it down:
Pros:
✅ Cost-Effective: Save big on operational costs. Who doesn't love more $$$?
✅ Talent Pool: Home to some of the world's best tech talent. These folks know their stuff!
✅ Time Zone Advantage: Your business never sleeps. Get work done while you snooze.
Cons:
❌ Communication Barriers: Accents can be tricky. Be ready for some hilarious misunderstandings!
❌ Time Zone Challenge: Meetings at odd hours. Say goodbye to your 9-to-5.
❌ Cultural Differences: Sometimes, what you think is a joke, isn’t (and vice versa).
But hey, the pros often outweigh the cons. It's like enjoying a spicy curry—sure, it might burn a bit, but the flavor is totally worth it!
