Recently have enjoyed exploring what GitHub Copilot can (and can't) do to help you with refactoring, modernizing and optimizing tasks for existing codebases. And so am pleased to announce my new Pluralsight course all about it pluralsight.com/courses/refa…
Tired of manually reviewing large AI-generated PRs but still want to stay in the loop? Ask AI to make a walkthrough video of the code changes for you, in a logical order, calling out risks and key decisions.
Impressed that Opus 5.5 successfully converted the NAudio logo into SVG - a task that was beyond Opus 4.8 when I tried it a while back (despite many attempts at coaching it).
seems to be a lot of hype atm about rewriting apps (e.g. in Rust) to make them faster. but surely most enterprise software is i/o bound not cpu bound, so the biggest wins would be fixing bad SQL, eliminating N+1, batching, caching etc. what am I missing?
If you're still contemplating joining me at Techorama Netherlands for my reviving legacy codebases with AI talk later this month - here's a €100 discount code you can use...

my 6 months of Claude Max 20x comes to an end tomorrow, so need to decide what to get next? What's everyone's recommendations? Stick with Claude? Try Codex? #opencodego perhaps?
I'm gonna be speaking at @TechoramaNL next month on "Reviving a Legacy Codebase with AI" - would be great to see some of you there techorama.nl/schedule/sessio…
my most common AI request these days is to ask it to reduce its long-winded documentation. when are we finally going to get concise mode by default?
the Claude windows app has an infuriating bug where it insists on being the topmost window the whole time. hoping Claude is smart enough to work out how to fix it github.com/anthropics/claude…
has been a long time in the making, but I finally released NAudio 3 today markheath.net/post/2026/8/15… lots of modernization and perf improvements as well as a bunch of new features and Linux support
I've just published NAudio 3 preview 20 which is essentially the release candidate. Last chance to give any feedback on the changes before I release in the near future nuget.org/packages/NAudio/3.…
Just received this insightful email from openai. I'm guessing the agent didn't fully understand the assignment.
Pleased to announce I've just released my 30th course on Pluralsight - "Production-ready AI-assisted Development and Workflows" which explores lots of practical techniques for accelerating development with AI tooling, without sacrificing on quality pluralsight.com/courses/prod…
I think half my Claude tokens on Windows are spent on it thrashing around trying to fix line ending and BOM issues it created ... eventually it just deletes all its changes and re-applies them "from memory" 😱
Am finally going to abandon my Focusrite Scarlett 18i8 after years of battling audio driver issues on Windows. What 8-input USB audio interface has reliable Windows drivers? Considering Audient / UA Volt etc
Most dev teams have never had to worry about the problem of what happens if we have *too much* documentation, or *too many* automated tests, because we never had time to reach that point. Now AI is teaching us the hard way that yes you can have too much of a good thing
