Well said, Pauline. Labor’s Digital Duty of Care is Orwellian overreach that should horrify every Australian.
It expands the eSafety Commissioner’s powers, forces platforms to police “seriously harmful” content and design features, pushes algorithm controls (“My Feed, My Way”), and threatens $100m+ fines all under the vague banner of a “safe online environment.”
This is one of the worst pieces of legislation aimed at suppressing what Australians can say and see online.
With the government under pressure and support slipping, they’re reaching for more control instead of addressing the issues driving public anger.
Labor must be stopped.
