We are just learning details of the horrific mass shooting in Kraków, a savage and murderous attack that’s shattered the peace of Poland.
What we know so far is that several innocent precious lives were viciously cut down on a Saturday afternoon in Kraków’s historic and iconic central square.

🔴 ALERTA OCDH | Berta Soler Fernández y María Cristina Labrada, integrantes de las Damas de Blanco, fueron detenidas en la vía pública en horas de la mañana de hoy, sin que se conozca adónde fueron trasladadas, según la denuncia publicada por Lourdes Esquivel.
Desde el OCDH condenamos enérgicamente esta ola represiva contra periodistas y activistas en Cuba.
Exigimos información inmediata sobre el paradero de Soler y Labrada, su liberación y el cese de estas violaciones de derechos humanos.

Last night at the Lincoln Memorial, former political prisoners and families led the answer: solidarity across borders.
The October 30 Coalition helped bring them together.

On the steps of the Lincoln Memorial, we joined former political prisoners, their families, friends, and advocates to mark the International Day of Political Prisoners. Together with the October 30 Coalition, we spoke the names of those still behind bars for exercising their fundamental freedoms.
With every name, they gave voice to those whom brutal regimes have sought to silence and amplified their calls for freedom.
No one imprisoned for defending freedom should be forgotten. No family should have to stand alone.
As America’s foundation for freedom, @NEDemocracy will continue supporting detainees and their families while demanding the release of all those unjustly detained.

Durante años, el régimen comunista cubano utilizó la votación anual en la ONU para crear una falsa imagen de legitimidad internacional. Esta semana, la creciente oposición a la resolución asestó un duro golpe a esa propaganda.
Como dejó claro @USAmbUN, el corrupto régimen comunista de La Habana debe liberar a los presos políticos, legalizar la sociedad civil y celebrar elecciones libres y justas.

A father and daughter imprisoned for demanding freedom in Cuba.
Félix Navarro, 73, whom we honored with NED’s 2026 Democracy Award, has reportedly spent 66 days in isolation. His daughter Saylí remains imprisoned too.
Their courage deserves recognition, not prison. Both must be free.

Félix y Saylí Navarro están en prisión por hechos vinculados a las protestas del 11J. Ambos fueron detenidos en julio de 2021 y posteriormente condenados a nueve y ocho años de cárcel, respectivamente.
Durante estos años, ambos han enfrentado problemas de salud, restricciones en las visitas familiares y reiteradas denuncias sobre las condiciones en las que cumplen sus condenas.
La situación más reciente vuelve a generar preocupación. Según informó Martí Noticias, Sonia Álvarez, esposa de Félix y madre de Saylí, denunció que Félix Navarro, de 73 años, llevaba 66 días solo en una celda de la prisión de Agüica, mientras Saylí continúa presentando problemas gastrointestinales sin haber recibido una evaluación especializada.
Desde el OCDH mantendremos nuestro reclamo por la libertad inmediata de Félix y Saylí Navarro, así como por la de todos los presos políticos en Cuba.
