So refreshing to hear this instead of bland platitudes about Ariane 6. “If Europe wants to stay relevant—we will not be relevant without a massive rocket at a massive cadence." arstechnica.com/space/2026/0…

A historic night for European spaceflight. Huge congratulations to @danielmetzler and the entire @isaraerospace team on reaching orbit with Spectrum 🚀 from continental Europe. Spectrum quite literally rose to the challenge and delivered its payloads in low Earth orbit. An astounding achievement by German company Isar, founded only eight years ago. This is exactly the kind of ambition and commercial dynamism Europe needs. Commercialisation has been at the heart of ESA’s strategy, and the European Launcher Challenge is that strategy put into action following the 2023 Seville Summit. ESA will continue supporting Isar and Europe’s other new launch providers as they move from demonstration to reliable operations and scale. There is still a long road ahead, but this is a major milestone. Congratulations, Daniel and team. Europe is accelerating! Onward and upward! 🚀 esa.int/Enabling_Support/Spa…

Anil Menon applied to become an astronaut four times. He was rejected four times. “I was so sad, and I admitted defeat,” Menon said. “I just did not see a pathway forward. So I pretty much, at that point in time, gave up on being an astronaut. I thought there was a zero percent chance.” He went to space yesterday. arstechnica.com/space/2026/0…

I was able to get some more information about why NASA took the dramatic step 10 days ago of sending its astronauts into Crew Dragon for 'safe haven.' Spoiler alert: It involves saws and drills in space. arstechnica.com/space/2026/0…

This is incredible. The new @NASA image release from #Artemis includes a sequence of 'Hello World' still photographs. I've been processing / animating them and here's what the original didn't show us: Satellites, including their solar arrays, lightning storms and dancing aurora!

Era inquietante prima che emergessero i primi risultati delle indagini (che, ricordo, conducono gli investigatori della squadra mobile, non i giudici comunisti brutti e cattivi). Adesso è spaventoso.

The easy thing to do—the expected thing, really—would have been for NASA to sweep this report under the rug, declare Starliner-CFT a great learning experience, and say everything is going well. NASA did not do the easy thing. arstechnica.com/space/2026/0…

I am now the most banned author in the United States--87 books. May I suggest you pick up one of them and see what all the pissing & moaning is about? Self-righteous book banners don't always get to have their way. This is still America, dammit.
