(2/3) We examine the economic impacts of the first detection of coffee leaf rust in Hawaii and show that rising management costs—not just yield losses—substantially reduced farm profitability. Farm system structure also shaped resilience and adaptation.

Using a BWS experiment we find:
-Market access ranks top
-Infrastructure & extension next
-Input subsidies is 5th
-Cash transfers last
