🚆🇩🇪 I change trains at Hannover Hbf and continue to Göttingen with the #RE82823. This service was previously operated by Metronom, but DB Regio has been running it since June, using the same trains. They have not changed the colours or even the logos on the information screens.

🚆🇩🇪 Exploring more of Germany with the #DeutschlandTicket! I begin in Hamburg-Harburg, where I’m taking this regional train to Hannover Hbf. It’s worked by a Coradia LINT 41 and runs along the Heidebahn, a single-track, mostly unelectrified line that crosses the Lüneburg Heath.

🚇🇩🇪 I went on a tour of the Berlin U-Bahn in an open-roofed train! It departs from Deutsche Oper and takes you through the underground tunnels for around two hours, offering insights into the history, stations and infrastructure. It’s an unusual experience that I’d recommend!

🚆🇫🇷 Taking the #IC14142 from Hendaye to Toulouse-Matabiau, the only direct service between these destinations. For this journey, you would normally have to change trains at Bayonne. I travelled first class which offers a less crowded space, extra room and reclining seats. – at Hendaye, France

🚆🇪🇸 This has to be one of the longest train journeys in Spain! I went from Madrid-Príncipe Pío to San Sebastián-Donostia with the #MD18061, which takes about 7 hrs 40 mins to complete its 621 km route. It used to continue to Irun, but now only commuter trains cover that section. – at Madrid, Comunidad de Madrid

🚂🏔️ This is a bit different from what I usually post. I stayed at Canfranc Estación, a Royal Hideaway Hotel, and it really deserves a special mention. It’s located in the beautifully restored railway station, which was inaugurated in 1928 and is a real piece of history! – at Canfranc, España
