This man is a leader.
Ten years ago he had a crazy idea. Let’s train a computer vision model that can drive a car.
It was an idea that was ahead of its time. We didn’t have the giant Nvidia clusters we have now back then. An end to end neural network to handle the entire driving task was impractical and a pipe dream.
His team faced technical challenges. Pushback. Jeers and screams from every journalist who said it would never work. Resistance from regulators.
And he persisted. He kept investing. Any other CEO probably would have given up, and shut the project down. He didn’t. He never gives up. And now, he’s finally cracked the self-driving problem and is rolling out the first driverless cars using just computer vision in history. Now Europe has self-driving for the first time. He kept pushing and pushing until he broke through. And he’ll keep on pushing until every country in the EU has self-driving.
A huge amount of credit goes to Ashok, the Tesla AI team, Andrej Karpathy, the chip team, and many technical geniuses. But it’s often not appreciated that visionary leadership was required to even bring this team together, and allow them to thrive.
You can disagree with him, mock him, glorify or vilify him. Just about the only thing you can’t do is ignore him. Because he changes things. He pushes the bar higher. He leads our species forward.
Thank you so much to the entire Tesla team (including Elon) for building us such incredible products. My Tesla makes my life better and easier every day, especially the self-driving. I hope everyone on the Tesla team knows how impactful their work is to the lives of millions of customers.

The first direct observation of gravitational waves captured the merging of two black holes which emitted 36 septillion yottawatts of power (3.6×10⁴⁹ watts), greater than the combined power of all light radiated by all the stars in the observable universe.

Satellite imagery just caught xAI doing something no press release ever could: painting MACROHARD across the roof of its Colossus 2 datacenter in Tennessee. A building-sized wink at Microsoft, visible from orbit, impossible to ignore.
It reads like a joke, until you look at what’s underneath.
⚆ Colossus 2 isn’t a concept site or a slide in a deck. Power and cooling infrastructure are expanding in lockstep, with the campus pushing toward ~400 MW of active capacity in the near term. Gas turbines are arriving. Cooling towers are multiplying. The build is loud because the progress is real.
⚆ More importantly, this early ramp sits on a much larger foundation. xAI has secured a clear path towards large scale on-site generation, creating a credible trajectory toward more than 2 GW of IT capacity over time. This isn’t aspirational: it’s ordered hardware, permitted infrastructure, and steel on the ground.
The subtext is clear: while others debate timelines, this campus is already running. The roof says MACROHARD. The infrastructure says we’re ahead.

Most webapp use JavaScript with NPM dependencies, known to be hard to secure against upstream injections. Most people use Bitcoin by sending each other invoices and addresses over messaging apps. Sometimes webapps. Some of these can be attacked to replace addresses. Even if *your* Bitcoin wallet is not affected, the messaging app where you sourced the address from may be. Hardware signing device will not really protect you, since you will just confirm on the device the (fake) address you see in the message.
Long term, this makes the case for good payment protocols (like generalized forms of BIP21, BIP321, BIP353, Bolt12, etc.), integrated into good messaging systems (partially unrelated cool experiments are going on with stuff like Bitchat, Whitenoise, Keet, SimpleX, etc.).
Short term: for relevant amounts, confirm address with the recipient over at least 2 decently secure channels.

Bitkey infrastructure and devices are not at risk from the ongoing NPM supply-chain attack.

View of Starship landing burn and splashdown on Flight 10, made possible by SpaceX’s recovery team. Starship made it through reentry with intentionally missing tiles, completed maneuvers to intentionally stress its flaps, had visible damage to its aft skirt and flaps, and still executed a flip and landing burn that placed it approximately 3 meters from its targeted splashdown point
