🚨 Can $BTC hit $190K by September 2027?
@maplefinance CEO @syrupsid thinks Bitcoin is still in the early innings of this bull market. His roadmap? A correction first, then a final rip toward a blow-off top in Q3 2027.
That's more than 2x from here. But the timing of that final leg is what makes this call interesting.
Are we really that early?

🇸🇬 LONGITUDE: Why are traditional asset managers looking to move assets onchain? Cheaper capital.
“They're looking at the onchain cost of capital and thinking it's quite a bit lower than what they could borrow for in traditional finance,” @maplefinance's @syrupsid.

the growth of stablecoins is going to significantly increase the lending share held by non-banks/shadow banks.
by making it easier to move money there's less reason to hold it in checking accounts where you get paid zero and the bank keeps the entire spread.
when you can move money into different fixed income products as easily as sending an email (or have an agent do it for you -> FSD money), a huge amount of funds will migrate over to fixed income/private credit products.
the TAM of onchain direct lending and private credit will be multiples larger than the tradfi version today. @maplefinance

Maple Finance built an API that lets any fintech run a lending business.
It starts with crypto-backed loans, because fintechs already hold the required collateral in their users' wallets.
"Your customers hold Bitcoin. They're going to be able to start to borrow against that Bitcoin."
"As you start to get into further tokenization of assets, people holding equities and other assets on-chain within their fintech experience of choice, you can start to add more and more lending against those assets before you start to get into the cash flow loans."

@syrupsid told me how he managed to grow @maplefinance after calling out “DeFi is Dead”.
What is dead?
According to Sid. It is the 2021 version of DeFi: wallet connections, token incentives, users manually combining protocols, and layers of smart-contract risk.

Live Thursday August 20th
12:00 PM ET / 9:00 AM PT.
- @bruncko, @Schuman_io - 12:30 PM ET
- @SirDigitalDan, @CoinflowLabs + @samiam2194, @CMT_Digital - 1:00 PM ET
INCLINE, presented by @breezedotcom
- @neburo, @TenderlyApp - 1:30 PM ET
- @joe_defi, @maplefinance - 2:00 PM ET
The agenda:
Schuman Financial - EURØP is a euro stablecoin issued under a French ACPR licence, with reserves held at Société Générale and audited quarterly by KPMG. We are getting into what a regulated euro rail actually requires, who is holding it today, and what has to change for euro stablecoins to move past 0.22% of the market.
Coinflow + CMT Digital - Coinflow closed a $25M Series A led by Pantera in October. CMT has backed them since the 2023 pre-seed and led the seed. Last month the two of them co-hosted Chicago Stablecoin Day at Coinflow's own office, and we want to know what that room surfaced.
Tenderly - Nebojsa Urosevic co-founded the simulation layer that models a transaction against live chain state before it is sent. In March they shipped an MCP server so AI agents can run that check themselves, and wrote that a hallucinating agent onchain costs users real funds. Onchain there is no undo, which matters a lot more when the thing pressing send is software.
Maple - Joe Flanagan has said their internal risk monitoring platform will start to become more agentically run: AI simulating market conditions to predict the likelihood of margin calls and liquidations, with Maple setting the risk framework and agents running it in real time. $4.6B in institutional credit onchain.

Today we're releasing our Maple Finance Q2 2026 Report.
Q2 was one of the toughest quarter on record for DeFi lending. Bitcoin fell -14.2%, DeFi lending TVL contracted -25.2%, and 83 hacking incidents hit the ecosystem in a single quarter.
Here's how Maple came out the other side:
→ AUM closed at $4.61B (-0.94% QoQ) against a benchmark down -25.2%
→ Active loans reached a new ATH: $1.835B (+55.6% QoQ)
→ H1 2026 revenue: $10.89M, broadly in line with full-year 2025 output
→ Zero forced liquidations. Track record intact through a second consecutive stress quarter.
The report also covers the launch of syrupUSDG ($227M in 6 weeks), the Maple Institutional breakout ($753M TVL, +767% QoQ), and MIP-021, which passed with 99.97% of the vote.
