I’m seeing a lot of people dismissing the idea of a Manchester United boycott by simply saying “it won’t work.” But how can we know that without a proper plan, without trying, or without even having a serious conversation about what coordinated action could look like? What exactly is there to lose by exploring it? It would be difficult. It would require sacrifice. Removing yourself financially from a club you love, even temporarily, would be painful. But protests, hashtags and angry posts online haven’t produced the change supporters want. If fans genuinely want the Glazers to leave, then there needs to be a tangible, organised plan and, most importantly, supporters need to work together. One thing seems clear to me: continuing to financially support the Glazer ownership while hoping they eventually decide to leave gives them very little incentive to change course.
