Northern bettongs are only found in two extant populations, @manniefischer tells us. Her research uses high density camera sites & cage traps for monitoring, and show that numbers are declining. #ESASCBO2022

Pleased to say we have detected at least one KI dunnart at a monitoring site established days after the first KI bushfire.
This is fantastic news but we must work hard to protect them from predation by feral cats and locate other remnant patches to find more survivors🤞 – at South Australia, Australia

Back on the hunt for 🦊💩 to check up on fox densities in the Otways on year post-baiting using 🧬 sampling. 192 km of tracks to walk over 12 days is equal parts intimidating and exciting. I can’t wait to see who’s still around and how things have changed! #foxcontrolpatrol
