Dreaming of sunflowers & starry nights at the transcendental @goghsanantonio experience... another "haven't done something like *this* in X years" (10 going to a movie, 27 for a concert) first. If I'm not careful, at this rate it'll look like I'm starting to have a life again.

As part of an experiment while working on a new project, I ended up putting some of my art through @midjourney to see how it reimagines them.

And sometimes, after months lapsed back in the dark and *years* without an in-person friend, life pulls you out into the world again. (Hanging out downtown (!) for my belated birthday with the awesome @Black13, complete with bar crawl and a sweet haul from @NowhereBookshop.)

Stop gaslighting yourself into the narrative you’re lazy when you’re really burnt-out and exhausted AF from trying to survive these dark times.

It won’t take you light-years to get there. The dark years work too.

"Every life is in many days, day after day. We walk through ourselves, meeting robbers, ghosts, giants, old men, young men, wives, widows, brothers-in-love, but always meeting ourselves." — James Joyce #Ulysses100 #Bloomsday2022

Goodbye, you beautiful, fierce, loving galaxy of a human. I've called you my brother for half my life, and it wasn't nearly long enough. Ad astra, amicus meus. 💔

Thank you for everything in this, Wil. You not only saved my home, but (more than you know) my life. Everyone who #WilSentMe is proof that the spirit of the internet can still be, here and now, what we who love it (& one another) want it to be. <1/2> wsj.com/articles/the-interne…

This hits me so bittersweetly today, as a beloved friend of mine — a fellow vet of the old web who became the science director for the ISS — is near death as I write this. I'm aching w grief to lose that light from the final frontier, but so grateful to have had it at all. <2/2>

Hey, US-based friendos, a gentle and sad reminder to make sure you have a - living will - regular will - identified executor Notarize docs as required by your state. Have digital copies and original documents ready at hand with multiple people able to get to them.

A month ago today, my life changed. To mark it, I finally went all the way to the end of my street & back: the farthest I've gone completely on my own in 15 years. Thank you for saving my home — & making me want to find a place on the outside again. This is still everything. 🙏

Here in Texas, we had to spend four years struggling to get the mental healthcare I now have. Even with a lawyer, every step was a battle. I was tested & examined in the most humiliating & degrading process I've ever experienced. <1/4>

The mentally ill are far more likely to be *victims* of violence (including me) than perpetrators of it. Same with LGBTQ+ (especially trans) people & people of color. Texas find ways to blame us for every fire, and sees the solution as giving more people matches & gasoline. <3/4>

I went through hell, treated like a criminal for being openly mentally ill and trying to get needed help for it — but the sickness in the Texas government is far greater than any sickness this Texan has ever had or could ever fathom. <4/end>
