In 2003, while filming in the Gobi Desert, a German crew captured something truly extraordinary.
After a difficult two-day labor, a mother camel rejected her newborn calf. A nomadic family then performed the ancient Hoos ritual — a traditional singing ceremony passed down for generations.
As the ritual ended, the mother camel began to cry… and finally accepted her baby.
This emotional moment became one of the most memorable scenes in the Oscar-nominated documentary The Story of the Weeping Camel.

Shaniwar wada foundation stone was laid by Bajirao Peshwa on 10 Jan 1730. It was the nerve centre of the Maratha state till 1817. The British let it burn down in 1827. The Indian Govt and @ASIGoI has not maintained, repaired it the way it should, since then. The huge wall paintings of Ganesh and Vishnu are fading away. Repeated representations to @MinOfCultureGoI by @Medha_kulkarni and late @mukta_tilak have been ignored. A written proposal was handed over to @gssjodhpur recently also awaits action.
Such neglect is of great concern to citizens of Pune. Just like the airport here is on its way after Pune’s MP @mohol_murlidhar became the Civil Aviation Minister, perhaps only a minister from Pune can n the Culture Ministry will pay heed to these representations.
