Shameless plug for my own little single header json parser, which is in-place and no memory allocation (read from file and parse your example in 0.032s on my machine) github.com/mjansson/json
Awesome model, some really neat details in there. I wonder if it would be possible to mod it with the motors from a mindstorms set…

Be careful what you wish for, our Polestar 2 has an Android system and it has quite a few issues, one of them being extremely laggy. Changing driver profile after getting into the car (since it usually picks the wrong one or pick setting from the wrong profile) takes ages.

Went to Legoland, came back with this. Good thing I’m on vacation for another three weeks

Yeah, that one falls in the ”did not need this” category imo.
With age I find myself interested in increasingly boring topics. First rpmalloc and memory allocation, then a CAD tessellator, and now… version control. Save me from my brain please.

Very much so, but then Ms. Marvel came along and suddenly I find myself interested again.

designing the autopilot program to shut off less than a second before impact so your company can deny it was the cause of the impact is simply epic

_exit … and then cry when you realize you need to turn your thing into a library to be called multiple times in the same process

Very interesting post about memory allocation performance in a real world scenario

It’s public domain / MIT though, so no obligation to tell me anything if it’s being used :)

I know Burst uses it to speed up the LLVM workloads on Windows, and I integrated it in Simplygon while I was working at Microsoft. Also used by Ubisoft to speed up LLVM, not sure if that’s still being used though. And I think Embark uses it in some tools with their Rust crate.

Happy that you liked it, making it easy to drop into a test or larger project was one of my primary goals with rpmalloc.

The seduction of social media is feeling like your voice itself has intrinsic power. It doesn't. This is not a public discourse. You are a tourist entering into an algorithmic game run by hustlers, on a street policed by the illiterate, under a regime paid by taxing attention.
