My son just asked me what my favorite radioactive element is. "And, please don't pick plutonium, that's too predictable. I mean, if people have the entire lanthanide series to choose from, why do people insist on plutonium? It's so basic."
Just got word that my son won 3rd out of 120 representing his high school at an e-sports competition playing Super Smash Bros. Colleges were there scouting. People were taking notes on actual notepads about players. I'm fascinated.

GRAPHIC NOVELS ARE NOT 'DUMBING DOWN' READING.
THEY ARE REAL BOOKS.

A5: In my classroom, poetry is centered as a window to the world and hearts. Poetry is powerful as a tool for conveying important learning in a small package, making it more accessible. Poetry also enhances language acquisition & comprehension of other genres. #NCTEchat

Adminisrators, teachers love to feel appreciated. And while mugs and snacks are lovely, what we really want is an ongoing culture of appreciation built through encouraging our autonomy, inviting our flexibility, coaching our failures and your regular presence in our classrooms.
Writing helps me understand how hard it can be for our kids to write. That sounds simple, but this stuff isn’t easy. Drafting, revising, editing...it’s hard. – at Texas, USA
Day 4 of #R10DF at Life School, and we’re starting the day with Game of Stories. Great to hear how others have put new twists on a cool tool. #personalizedPD

It doesn't have to be boring...books of short stories, poetry, novels in prose, graphic novels. Let's change it up, folks! Just because it's assigned doesn't mean it has to be so bad they wait until August to read and then get penalized for turning in rushed or copied work😂
A1. Children who do not read much over the summer may lose up to three months of learning, and this loss is cumulative. Students must read over the summer! #makesummercount
