Barcelona this week, 22nd to 25th 🇪🇸 Really want to meet some founders and GTM people in person while I’m there. No agenda, just a coffee and a proper conversation about what everyone’s building. If you’re in the city, reply or DM 👇

Flying to Barcelona on the 22nd, there till the 25th. Want to meet founders and GTM folks in person while I’m there. Doesn’t need to be a “meeting”, a coffee and a real conversation is the whole point. If you’re around, reply or DM 👇

ChatGPT has ads now, and every B2B founder is asking me if they should run them. After testing them on real clients, my honest answer: it’s not a yes, and it’s not a no. It’s earlier than the hype, but more interesting than you’d think. Here’s what we’re actually seeing 👇

Quick version of what we’re seeing: It’s awareness, not conversions. Wrong KPI = wrong conclusion. Targeting is prompt- and context-based, not job-title-based like LinkedIn. Only free + Go users see ads right now, so your senior buyers mostly won’t. Tracking is the real bottleneck. You can’t yet prove a closed deal from it. Treat it as an R&D experiment, not a core channel. Full breakdown: youtu.be/d1AyJGXKXvg?si=gxLz…

In Barcelona next week, from the 22nd to the 25th. I’m giving away free coffee to any B2B SaaS founder who’ll let me ask them one question: what’s actually broken in your pipeline right now? Half work, half fun. If you’re around, reply or DM me and let’s meet 👇

A client once spent 6 months and their entire SEO budget, then watched ChatGPT answer their exact keyword and never mention them. All that traffic, invisible to the one place buyers now ask. Founders: Are you tracking whether AI actually mentions you, or still just watching rankings?

Prospects keep telling us the same thing on calls: ChatGPT gave them a list of four agencies; they looked up our site and booked. In GA, that shows up as direct traffic. If direct is climbing and you can't explain it, ask your next five leads how they found you.

A SaaS founder told me he doesn't want small customers finding him on ChatGPT. Bad fit. A typical AEO tool today can't do that. It counts citations, and one shown to the wrong buyer counts the same. We are trying to own AEO through to qualified leads. Service is our MOAT; tech is the medium. Who sees the answer matters more than how often. Checkout salientnow.io

$35M in pipeline from Meta ads in 3 months. For a B2B company. Cost per sales-ready lead: about $65. Every B2B founder tells me Meta doesn't work for them. I used to believe it too. What changed and how we did it 👇

What we found: Meta was never the problem. The definition of a lead was. Tell Meta a form fill is a win, and it will hunt cheap form fills. The fix: Score every lead in the CRM and send that score back to Meta as the conversion signal. Test positioning angles, not just creatives. 2 creatives drove 62% of sales-ready leads. Neither was about specs or pricing. Kill losers fast. 7 creatives got zero conversions and still ate 11.5% of the budget. Scale the boring way. Same job titles, same targeting, new geographies. Budget roughly doubled, qualified leads doubled, cost per qualified lead went down. Meta optimizes for whatever you call a win. Define it downstream or Meta defines it for you. Hot take: "ranking #1 on Google" is becoming a vanity metric. If ChatGPT answers the question and never cites you, your #1 ranking is a trophy nobody sees. The new game isn't ranking above competitors. It's being the source the AI quotes.

Unpopular opinion: most "SEO" traffic B2B teams are proud of is about to vanish, and they're optimizing to protect it. Informational rankings are exactly what AI answers eat first. If your traffic isn't buyer-intent, it isn't an asset. It's a countdown.

Audited a B2B SaaS Google Ads account spending thousands a month for 2 years. The CPAs looked incredible. That was the tell. 75% of their conversions were worthless. Google wasn't broken. It was optimizing perfectly toward the wrong goal 👇

What we found: their primary conversion was "onboarding completed," which was really just a free trial sign-up. Maximize Conversions did its job and chased free signups for 2 years. The fix: Send offline conversions back to Google (real revenue lives in your CRM, not your site). Value each action. Form fill: $10, signup: $0, contract signed: $100. Google stops chasing noise and starts hunting revenue. Full teardown: youtu.be/LvNt5Ki-hkg?si=8U26…

Most B2B founders who "tried paid and it didn't work" never had a paid problem. They had a signal problem. Wrote up the one setting nobody audits and why it quietly kills your pipeline 👇

Most B2B SaaS teams kill PMax after one quarter and blame Google. It's almost never PMax. Your conversion tracking is feeding it the wrong signal, so it optimizes for cheap free trials that never turn into pipeline. 3 things to fix before you turn it on 👇

The 3, quickly: Clean conversion tracking. One primary conversion = a paying (or willing-to-pay) customer, with value assigned to each action. 30+ conversions/month before you switch on PMax. Under that, stay on search. Test value-based bidding on search first. If it lifts lead quality without blowing up CPA, then turn on PMax. Full breakdown: youtu.be/rGLd0lwoMFg?si=Yijd…

You can't hide your pricing anymore. You can only choose who answers the question. A buyer asks ChatGPT, "How much is [your product]?" and it answers. Every time. The only question is whether it pulls the number from your page or from a random teardown site that scored you 68/100. "Contact sales for pricing" used to control the conversation. Now it just hands the conversation to Reddit, G2, and sites you've never heard of. The buying journey already started. You're just not in the room.

One of the "golden rules" of Google Ads is a myth. Everyone says never run the same keywords across two campaigns; you'll just compete against yourself. So we tested it. Same keywords, same match types, same audience. Only the ad copy and landing pages changed. The data showed the exact opposite of what everyone repeats. Full breakdown 👇
