We cant live like this. We need to start ramping up pressure to GoK bureaucrats and politicians. They walk abroad but here they love cars because in those tinted windows, they're insulated from public scrutiny and the smell of underdevelopment that they make us wallow in.
Pedestrians and cyclists are getting a raw deal on Uhuru Highway.

The children of immigrants are not failing to integrate into French society. They are integrating perfectly. They see, with absolute clarity, how France actually works. They see the résumé studies showing identical qualifications getting different callbacks based on the name at the top. They see the stop and search rates. They see which neighborhoods receive which services. They see what their parents sacrificed and what it produced. They see the gap between "Liberté, Égalité, Fraternité" on the buildings and the lived arithmetic of their daily lives. They are not confused about France. They understand it precisely. When the response to that understanding is rage and refusal, the French establishment calls it a "failure to integrate." What it actually is, is the logical response of people who have integrated completely and don’t like what they found. That’s not an integration problem. That’s an honesty problem.

The more patriarchal a community, the more insecure its men are. Subjugation of women is what takes them from say, minus 2 to zero - a point from which they are on par with their women. Think of patriarchy as a raised platform in communities where men are shorter than women.

Today I made a Shiva call (a Jewish condolence visit) to @ori_goldberg’s family, and told his mother, one of his sisters, his girlfriend, his ex-wife, and his daughter & two sons that thousands of Twitter followers all over the world respected and adored Ori, and he’ll be missed.

My father was widowed at age 65 upon my mother's untimely death. After grieving the loss of his darling wife, he eventually entered the dating market and was greeted with many options. Being a modest man, he was retired and living on a small budget of about $3,000 a month. He owned his home, drove a modest car, ate dinner out once a month, and took a vacation once a year. He loved reading, painting, gardening, hosting friends, learning, taking classes, and going to the theater. He was a sophisticated yet simple man who enjoyed the finer things in life without needing much money to enjoy them. As it happened, an extremely wealthy woman with multiple homes and considerable means fell deeply in love with him. They dated, grew close, and eventually decided they wanted to marry. My father was delighted but concerned about the enormous financial discrepancy between them. So he offered her a choice. They could either live his frugal lifestyle together or her extravagant lifestyle together. But he wasn't willing to have two economies in one marriage. Whatever they had, they would share equally. The choice was hers. She took some time to consider his proposal, but eventually returned with an answer that sealed the deal in his heart. "Gene, the choice isn't mine. I've already made my choice. I've been poor, and I've been rich. I'm not interested in money. I want to share my life with you, no matter what that looks like. "So tell me, which kind of life would YOU like to live?" My father was stunned. Who was this woman who loved him so deeply that she would willingly trade her wealth and extravagant lifestyle for his modest little life, just to be with him? Having spent his entire life in the lower middle class, my father decided to give her lifestyle a try. And so began some of the happiest years of his life. For 11 wonderful years, they enjoyed the simple pleasures of sitting together in my father's modest garden, reading, learning, taking classes, and hosting friends. And, of course, they traveled the world together, enjoying adventures my father had never imagined possible. Sadly, after just 11 years of marriage, as had happened with my mother, his beloved wife fell ill. And just as he had done for my mother, my father lovingly nursed her, cared for her, and sat faithfully by her side every day until she, too, passed away. I bless every man and woman who understands the depth and power of this real-life fairy tale. May we all merit to have such a person in our lives. And may we all be that person to someone else. 🙏💚

I do not understand why relatively few people in the geopolitical analyst realm are making a big deal about the fact that Ansar Allah has, in crescendo, decisively defeated the combined forces of the Anglo-American empire and its vassals. It is stunning. #NoEasyWarsLeftToFight
🇾🇪 "The Houthis are here to stay. They're not going to be defeated, and they're going to remain in control of a large part of Yemen for the foreseeable future," former MI6 chief Sir John Sawers said Monday at the Global Security Forum in Doha. Sawers, who led Britain's foreign intelligence service from 2009 to 2014, said Ansarallah has "exposed the limited options that Saudi Arabia has in terms of dealing with" the group. "The Houthis have got their own national Yemen agenda," he said on a panel on the Five Eyes intelligence alliance, adding that Saudi efforts "to sustain an alternative government have not been successful over the last 10 years."

People fail to appreciate that there was the Metropole and the Settlers in Kenya. London had indeed made peace with independence, the settlers in Kenya had not. Mau Mau made it clear to the settlers that they couldn't hope to control Kenya without backing from the UK Government.
Maumau never succeeded. The mzungu decided to go away. Painful fact to stomach.

“We were willing to be kind, generous, and even agreed to share the land,” says this Israeli diplomat to me. A reminder that at partition, in 1947, Jews owned 7% of the land. This guy says they were willing to “share” the 93% that wasn’t even theirs. There is a word for that.
We were willing to be kind, generous, and even agreed to share the land. But apparently, our willingness to compromise made you mistake our goodwill for weakness - and believe that the land was yours to claim. Let me be clear: it is not. It never was. And it never will be. The Land of Israel is the historic homeland of the Jewish people. Our willingness to share it does not erase our history, diminish our rights, or make anyone else its owner.

🚨 PLEASE READ THIS. I genuinely think we've sleepwalked into something that could change the world as we know it, and I'm increasingly worried about where we'll be in just a few years if we don't change course. Look at what's happening with Ukraine, and the reports of Elon Musk's Starlink restricting Ukraine's military capabilities, alongside Trump's willingness to ease sanctions on Russia while its invasion continues. These might seem like issues specific to the Russia and Ukraine War, but they expose two enormous problems: The growing power of unelected billionaires, and the failure of international institutions to hold those in power accountable. We're entering an age of technopolarity, where a handful of billionaires and their corporations, from Starlink to Palantir and AI, are gaining extraordinary power over national security and critical infrastructure, with little to no democratic oversight. What happens when their political interests or personal ambitions conflict with those of the countries depending on them? And then there's international law. Ukraine, Gaza, Iran, and beyond have shown us what happens when powerful states and their allies can disregard international law without facing meaningful consequences. International courts undermined. Arrest warrants challenged or ignored. UN resolutions disregarded. Leaving civilians killed and displaced on an unimaginable scale. What use is international law if enforcing it ultimately depends on the goodwill of those powerful enough to break it? Then look at how this has played out with climate change. For decades, Big Oil has used its wealth to influence governments, shape public debate and delay meaningful action. We know what's happening to our planet. We know what needs to be done. Yet political action remains nowhere near what the science demands. All of this comes back to the same fundamental problem. We've allowed wealth and corporate interests to accumulate vastly more influence over political decisions than ordinary people and the planet. Meanwhile, we're encouraged to turn on each other. Immigrants, refugees, disabled people, welfare recipients and minorities are repeatedly blamed for problems they didn't create. Populists exploit that anger, offering us someone to blame while the people and interests benefiting from the existing system escape scrutiny. We're fighting each other instead of questioning who actually holds the power. And the more divided we become, the easier we are to manipulate. It's a downward spiral, and I genuinely fear how much worse it could get. Everything I've described comes back to the same fundamental imbalance of power. 💰🏭 → 🏛️ → 🔥 > 👥🌍 → 🏛️ → 🌱✨ Right now, wealth and industry have far more influence over politics than people and planet. And as long as that remains the case, every effort to tackle climate change, uphold international law, protect democracy, build a fairer economy or deliver meaningful progress is swimming against an increasingly powerful tide. Simply... WE NEED TO FLIP THE FUCKING TIDE. Imagine what becomes possible when people and planet have more power over political decisions than concentrated wealth and corporate interests. Climate action driven by science rather than fossil fuel profits. Technology serving humanity rather than billionaires. An economy built around wellbeing instead of extraction. International law that applies to everyone, regardless of power. And politics that genuinely represents the people it's supposed to serve. This is the problem we need to solve. We can keep campaigning against individual injustices, but unless we address the imbalance of power behind so many of them, we'll be fighting the same battles for generations. Politics has to follow the people, not the money. And that won't happen unless we build the power to make it happen. They are so few. We are billions. It's about time we started acting like it.

"I'll know the cost once the contractor quotes me." That is the myth. A contractor quotes what he is asked to build. If the design is vague, the quote is a guess with a signature on it. The cost is decided at design stage, room by room, before any contractor is involved. Change the room sizes. Watch the cost move. Then you are negotiating from knowledge, not hope. podcity.ke/?pc=286b1edfd3&ut…

Watch the video below from Rubio in the conext of Netanyahu's post. The US and Israel are talking about disappearing Iran. The fucking United States. And let's not pretend this is just talk. Look at Gaza. These are war criminals, posting on social media about commiting the most heinous of war crimes. The real issue? This is just another Monday. This is now normal. xitter.cf/netanyahu/status/21122…
“If Iran didn’t exist” Notice how easy the pro-Israel people, who scream about anyone questioning Israel’s ‘right’ to exist, happily and casually talk about disappearing entire countries - Rubio here on Israel, Trump the other day on Somalia.

We are hearing increasing calls to increase military spending from European ruling elites like Jacob Rees Mogg because they have lost their legitimacy and sacrificed their nations' economies for conflicts with Russia and Iran They must transition to a state of war and permanent emergency to preserve their rule, stripping away rights and wealth from the public while bombarding their populations with hysterical propaganda about Putin as the present day Hitler If European leaders were serious about confronting evil or opposing a Holocaust, they would have stood up to Israel, not cheered it on as it burned Gaza to the ground
On Piers Morgan Uncensored, The Grayzone's Max Blumenthal slammed Jacob Rees-Mogg's call for a major hike in British military spending and slashing "stupid welfare": "When this war economy starts, and when the war actually starts, and they start tempting nuclear annihilation, it's going to be the poor and working class children who go and fight for Latvia and Estonia against Putin. It's not going to be the children of the wealthy elite. And that's a sacrifice that Jacob is willing to make."

To the police officer who shot me outside Parliament. I know you might read this. I was just an innocent young man exercising my rights. I was not a criminal, but you decided to try and end my life. Others like me survived. I personally forgive you. Not because what you did was okay, but because I refuse to let hate consume me. May you live long enough to witness me rise again.

So is Waiguru saying Sifuna should first go to Chatham House, like she did, where she was told she would be Kenya's Kamala Harris?
Anne Waiguru: Let me give you one example that made me know that Sifuna still needs time. When they were deciding on the party to run, his closest allies, who hold his hands up, he could not convince them to abandon their parties for his. That is a capacity issue. Ruto, when he was still DP, convinced over 100 MPs to go with him and help him with the presidency. Ruto has the money and the machinery, so if you don’t have it, what are you doing running for president? #CitizenSundayLive
