John Lennon's will left nothing to his first son, Julian. After a 16-year fight, Julian settled with the estate for a reported £20 million. He says he has been spending it buying his father's things back.
Yoko Ono's estate had sold them.
Julian was 17 when his father was killed in 1980. The will made no provision for him, only a small trust set up earlier. His lawyers argued that Yoko unduly influenced the will in favor of her son, Sean. The settlement terms were never made public.
In the video below, a TV host brings up the part that stayed with her. Julian had to buy, at auction, the postcards he and his father had written to each other. "I went. That's disgusting." He says a lot of his father's belongings were auctioned off by Yoko, personal possessions and instruments.
Then he says what he thinks about it: "The most ironic thing is, with the settlement that I did receive, I've been buying his stuff back with that. So I'm buying his stuff back with his money, which is absolutely insane."
Asked about Yoko, he calls her "very manipulative." "I think she knew exactly what she was doing from day one. She played it innocent, but I think she had it all planned."
Yoko reportedly authorized the settlement. This month Sean said he and Julian inherited the same amount.
The estate sold the postcards. The settlement paid for Julian to buy them back.
What this story shows us is that a will is the last thing a parent says to you, and what it leaves out can last a lifetime.
Was Yoko protecting a legacy, or did she write a child out of it?

Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu:
Macron called me on October 7. He said, "You know, we have to work for an immediate ceasefire and to solve this by diplomacy."
And I said, "No, no, Emmanuel. It's not going to be solved by diplomacy. These are monsters. These are neo-Nazis."
I said, "You know, Hamas is like ISIS. In fact, it's worse in some respects than ISIS, even worse than ISIS. And let me tell you, if we don't stop Hamas here, you'll see them on the streets of Paris."
And that's exactly what is happening right now.

Did you know? When Ravel’s Boléro premiered in Paris in 1928, a woman reportedly shouted, “The madman!” Ravel replied, “That lady… she understood.” 🎼
Nearly a century later, its hypnotic repetition and relentless crescendo continue to captivate audiences. Experience the magic in this 2014 performance by Daniel Barenboim and the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra at Buenos Aires’s Teatro Colón. 🔥

Most people in ancient Rome lived in rented apartments.
Today, a 1,900-YEAR-OLD Roman apartment block is still standing in Rome, at the foot of the Capitoline Hill.
Records from the 4th century say the city had about 46,000 apartment blocks, called “insulae.” In comparison, there were fewer than 2,000 private houses.
Some of these buildings were so tall that Augustus banned anything higher than 70 Roman feet (about 20 meters). Later, Emperor Trajan lowered the limit to 60 Roman feet.
The floors worked the opposite way from today. Shops were on the ground floor, and rich tenants lived on the first floor. The higher you went, the cheaper the rent and the worse the living conditions: there was no running water, there were fewer windows, and there were a lot of stairs to climb.

French President Emmanuel Macron, in a speech to the nation:
"Those who tried to bring down the Republic will pay the price."
On the demonstrations themselves, Macron drew a line between the two. Those who protested peacefully against the high cost of living were legitimate in their demonstrations, he said, and the issues driving them came from an international conflict in the Middle East that France did not start.

Prime Minister Netanyahu says Israel must fundamentally change its defense strategy by expanding domestic weapons and ammunition production, reducing dependence on foreign suppliers.
He said Israel should seek partners who depend on Israeli capabilities rather than the other way around.
Netanyahu also called for weapons production and advanced defense technology facilities to be built underground, protecting Israel’s military industrial capabilities from attack.
