While Lydia Yuknavitch's "Chronology of Water" is an actual memoir, and "Do the Wrong Thing: Book One" is a work of fiction, both books explore "taboo" topics with transgressive humour and a gleeful approach to rule-breaking. You'll laugh and cry.

Elon Musk reveals that an ex-Tesla employee who assaulted a woman for stepping on his prayer rug went on to kill three students in Austin.
MUSK: "We had someone who was working at the Tesla factory in Austin until December of last year. He was fired because he assaulted a woman who stepped on his prayer rug in the factory. Okay. So she wasn't expecting anyone to be praying in the factory, and he was praying in the factory. She accidentally stepped on his prayer rug, and he assaulted her. He violently assaulted her. So he was fired for that, and then a few months later, he went and killed three students in a bar in downtown Austin. Now, I think we shouldn't let people like that into the country. Do you?"

JD Vance didn't "go out of his way" to refuse to endorse Netanyahu. He was explicitly asked in an interview and said: I endorse American candidates, not foreign ones.
But the fact that Fox News think it's "anti-Israel" to refrain from endorsing Netanyahu -- as if that's a duty of an American Vice President -- shows the subliminal servitude to Israel embedded in the brains for decades of our bipartisan political and media class.

Alberta overwhelmingly votes to remain as apart of Canada.
But also, they voted Yes to Eight of the Nine.
I hope the PM @MarkJCarney can respect democracy even when it maybe unfavorable to him.
What most people already understand, even without the economic terminology, is that firms like BlackRock operate less like investors and more like modern feudal landlords.
They buy essential infrastructure, water networks, ports, energy grids, data centres, and other public necessities, often using vast amounts of borrowed money and paying prices that ordinary market participants cannot match.
Once the acquisition is complete, the debt is pushed onto the acquired company itself.
The result is simple: the public pays.
Consumers repay that debt through higher water bills, rising energy prices, increased fees, and declining service quality.
The infrastructure becomes a cash-extraction machine.
Profits flow upward to shareholders and executives, while the financial burden flows downward to ordinary households.
When the model inevitably breaks down, the consequences are socialised. Communities are left with crumbling infrastructure, polluted rivers and failing services.
Thames Water's £14 billion debt mountain and repeated sewage scandals are a stark example of what happens when financial engineering takes precedence over public stewardship.
The executives who loaded the company with debt have already collected their bonuses.
The investors have already taken their returns.
And when the system finally reaches its breaking point, taxpayers are expected to pick up the bill.
Privatise the gains.
Socialise the losses.
That is the business model......

It is so hard to articulate how batshit insane this story is in a single tweet with such limited space so please just go read it but to summarize:
A bunch of men are using Spain’s incredibly lenient gender identity law to easily change their legal sex (and nothing else) to ensure they get either lower penalties for the crimes they commit or get some sort of financial/professional benefits from identifying as women.
The same troons in Spain who fought for this incredibly lenient law and celebrated it are furious and are calling them “frauds” but have literally no answer to how or if the law should be changed to prevent this from happening.
It’s just a clusterfuck.

Netanyahu is telling you he’s going to do a false flag Nuke in the U.S. & blame Iran.
The only way to win a war against Iran is by using Nukes.
This is how he manipulates America to use Nukes against Iran:

Which G7 country goes bankrupt first?
Not Japan - they owe 204% debt to GDP but its all debt owned by Japanese institutions not foreign institutions so its safe.
Who do you owe is important.
Not the USA - they owe 126% debt to GDP and $1.4t in annual interest but they owe dollars and print dollars so they safe. The only way the US defaults is if they choose to.
What currency you owe is important.
Germany - half its debt is held by Germany but they use Euro and cant print however they have the highest EU bond rating and are a EU flight to safety.
Canada - 111% debt to GDP, but lowest government debt - safe. Best books of the 7.
UK - 5.4% to borrow highest of the G7 but clear.
Italy - on the ropes - 138% debt to GDP
Credit rating lower than France.
Owe little to foreigners compared to France. Cant print Euros.
France - the biggest risk of default of the G7 - 118% debt to GDP - owes 50% of debt to foreigners. Deficit is 5.4% of GDP. Pay 1.9% on old debt but 4.9% on new debts with massive refinancing due in 2026. Cant print Euros.
High probability France will default.
Now do you understand why there are “riots” in France?
All societal issues are based on economic issues.

It sounds like a conspiracy theory, but "California gas is expensive because of a failed high-speed rail project" is 100% real.
Almost half of ALL GAS TAXES go to funding the high speed rail project that hasn't delivered a single functional piece of rail in the last 11 years.
Great explanation of why California gas prices are higher than in other states, in the @sfchronicle of all places.
26¢/gallon goes to "cap-and-invest" which funds high-speed rail.
