My girlfriend used to be a goth in college, now she accepts the son is equal with the father
1st of August 2023, my daughter came home ..She was home, she was in a pub in West London, in Glencolmcille, in Acton. The likes and messages I received that day may so much. It was a difficult victory but a victory
And losing access to it for a few years hurt
If she was a totally different person, she would be different
Alfred Molina says Salma Hayek would’ve been bigger than Harvey Weinstein if she were white and male.
“She ended up having to sign some kind of deal where she had to make all these movies for The Weinstein Company”
“The loyalty she showed to us all was really remarkable. I won’t hear a bad word about her.”
“She was in a sense a victim of her own beauty. If she was white and male, given what she’s done in the industry, she’d be bigger than Harvey Weinstein.”
“The next time Harvey Weinstein saw me, he blanked me like I had cancer. So, you know, I pissed him off. I wear that as a badge of honor.”
“She was loyal to the nth degree. Not just to me, to everybody involved in the movie.”

My wife nearly died giving birth to our daughter. She had the highest category of bleed you can get and not immediately be pronounced dead. My wife was going blue, I was holding our newborn daughter and it was fucking ME 'packing' her downstairs up to stem the bleed.
The ref trolley protocol kicked in as of me going apeshit at the midwifes, who I could barely understand due to language differences.
It took ages of my bullying and complaints but we eventually got a 'Birth Debrief'. Absolute fucking waste of time as it was the NHS checking their own fucking homework.
The NHS spends out more £ on maternity malpractice payouts than they do on maternity care.
The NHS is *NOT* a safe environment, currently, to give birth.
My wife just spent four hours waiting in Urgent Care at the nearest hospital, on the advice of the NHS Maternity Service, because she's showing signs of preeclampsia. Can lead to fatal blood clots. She's a high-risk pregnancy.
Seen by an African nurse who barely speaks English, and makes multiple spellings errors in her notes and hospital letter.
After four hours of waiting, she's seen by a doctor — who tells her to make her own way to another hospital to wait in the Accident & Emergency department to get tested there instead.
Comes home and calls the hospital, who transfers her to a maternity service, also staffed by an African woman with an indecipherable accent, totally indifferent to the urgency of the situation. Tells her to come into the hospital and wait.
We went to this same hospital months ago, when we thought she had miscarried. Took seven hours to see us, and after telling us twice we had probably lost the baby, they did an ultrasound which showed she was fine. Somehow, they managed to miss A SECOND BABY with the ultrasound, though.
So now she's in A&E for another few hours, either for a life-threatening condition that's getting worse while she waits, or for something a quick scan and an Aspirin prescription will fix in moments.
No wonder maternal mortality has increased.
The incompetence, inefficiency, waste, and negligence in NHS maternity services is astounding. It's not just strain on the system from demand: it's that frontline staff are not compassionate or qualified.
Nobody seems willing to criticise this because it's mean, but so many people who interact with NHS services have a bad story.
It doesn't have to be like this. I don't care what needs to change to make it work. Just make it fit for purpose.

You believe you don’t live in the Age of Myth because you fail to properly see with your silly eyes. You believe the Sirens exist only in old stories, in fantasy?
A young woman with perky breasts jogs on the side of the road. Her rhythmic motion and that of the breasticle’s bounce entrance you. You veer off and hit the sidewalk. Calamity! Will she come over and consume your flesh? Perhaps not but disaster nonetheless.
You’ve learned nothing from this ever-repeating story. You didn’t stay the course. Your insurance premium rises. Silly man with silly eyes.

My dad used to work at an abattoir near to the Blind Date studios. He said one day Cilla Black came storming in, demanding to be allowed to watch the cows being slaughtered.
Apparently, she stood there laughing and jumping around with glee each time a cow was killed.
Eventually, she jumped over the railing onto the kill floor and insisted that they let her "do one herself."
My dad went to hand her the bolt gun, but she was already on the cows back, her arms clamped round its neck in a headlock.
Strangled the thing to death with her bare hands.
She said she wanted to watch the life go out of its eyes slowly.
