Excited to share that our protein editing method from the @MuirLab is now published in @ScienceMagazine
We believe that protein transposition will enable new biochemical studies of PTMs and open up new intersections of proteins and small molecules

Late to highlight this, but excited to share the latest intein engineering work in the @MuirLab that I've been able to contribute towards. In short, we think that this protein transposition technology can help us to study the functional landscape of IDRs within folded proteins
Ever wanted to swap out an entire internal region of a folded protein for functional biochemical studies? Check out our preprint that has been 5 years in the making, in which we establish a protein editing platform via protein transposition, enabling the insertion of functional cargo or PTMs into internal folded protein regions. #proteinengineering #proteinediting

Congrats to Yi, who has labored hard on this problem, and the rest of the team (Xuanjia, @jeremyaowen, @Hengyuan_Liu03, @rtho5616 ) for their contributions! It will be exciting to see where this technology will go in the future.

@jeremyaowen aims to expand our understanding of chromatin remodelers, complex protein machines responsible for packaging DNA and regulating gene expression.
Great to see this project go from the chalkboard during my time in the Rovis lab to completion! Congrats!
New year, new proximity labeling protocol! We can use red light to access trifluoromethyl carbenes from diazos for proximity labeling. Congrats to @crabaneros and @stavkariofillis for a great paper in collaboration with Merck!

Excited to share some of the research I’ve been up to in the @MuirLab , where we use caged inteins as programmable sensors on the cell surface to reconstitute a SpyCatcher loading dock for cell-targeted applications. biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/…

How can *stable* memory be encoded in patterns of *dynamic* epigenetic marks? We find 3D folding of genome can stabilize memory, if 3 ingredients are present...
