Some people do a lot of pearl-clutching about the children of mommy-bloggers and social media influencers. They are sure the kids will grow up to hate their parents, will write a tell-all book, will never speak to them again. I have two hot-takes in response:
March 14 (pi day) 2008. That's when I signed up for Twitter. I requested my archive last week and was out of town when I got the notice that it was ready. Today, uh, feels like a good time to download it (while I can?).
So many stories under #LoveWhereYouWorked - some of them had been there for a good duration of that time. Thanks for making Twitter a (mostly) wonderful place while you were there!
Are we collectively super into Greek mythology right now, or is it just me and Farrow & Ball apparently with their new Wine Dark color?
I think this is my next haircut. 💇🏻♀️

Even TikTok (which IG obviously desperately wants to be) works this way! Meanwhile my IG feed is a mess and my Explore page is somehow even worse.

"It's not yet good." That's obvious.
I was thinking about this last night though, after having the new IG. It's bad. It's TikTok without the earnestness and weirdness, and all it's doing is making me go over TO TikTok for that (better) experience if I'm after video content.
The new curved walls update is here! I can finally make the my Victorian in the Sims properly, and here I am waiting until I've finished my work for the day like a proper adult (but I wanna build).
Growing up Catholic really prepared me for my teenage goth years.
This is a great step.
Chicago is releasing a new citywide plan to shape the future, with an emphasis on equity and acknowledging past racist policies. ow.ly/Mqxj50JWpgR
Made it this far without having had Covid, but no longer. Positive last week, finally feeling mostly better today.
I’m glad others have been preparing with messages of hope and action because even though we knew this was coming, now that we are here I only feel sadness, anger, and hopelessness.
I know. Vote. And I have and I will continue. But this is not what we want and I’m so tired of hearing “vote!” like I haven’t been since I turned 18.
That, and they don’t replace actual neighbors in your community with a rotating cast of strangers.

Having dinner in the basement while the tornado warning is in effect like the good midwesterners we are.
Hi Republicans. American white woman here. 🇺🇸 Suburban mother of three. I hate to be rude (I’m midwestern!) but I want all your fucking guns gone. Please figure out a compromise between that and doing absolutely nothing because we’ve been trying that and it hasn’t worked.

One of the things you hear a lot is that an assault weapons ban wouldn't do much because there are so many already in circulation. But like, the Buffalo and Uvalde murderers purchased their weapons *this year.*
“Look at Chicago…” OK. Let’s look at Chicago. You can easily drive across state lines and get a gun. The majority of guns here are from out of state.
On @ABCGMA3 today was the Mayor of Uvalde. “Everybody has the right to own a gun” #UvaldeMassacre #Uvalde
