Many are horrified by the scenes from Sednaya and other torture dungeons. I am too. But let’s be clear: the world knew. Syrians ensured it, documenting every case, every detail, every story. Major media and human rights reports confirmed it. The world knew and let it happen.

Ratko Mladić is dead.
He died in The Hague while serving a life sentence for genocide, crimes against humanity, and war crimes committed during the aggression against Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Mladić commanded the forces responsible for the genocide at Srebrenica, where more than 8,000 Bosniak men and boys were murdered, and for years of terror against the people of Sarajevo and communities across Bosnia.
His death does not close this chapter of history. The murdered remain murdered. The missing are still being searched for. Survivors still carry the consequences. Families still bury loved ones more than three decades later.
But Mladić died where a convicted war criminal belonged: in prison.
There can be no rehabilitation of his name, no romanticizing of his crimes, and no rewriting of what happened.
Remember the victims. Honor the survivors. Preserve the truth.
Never forget Bosnia. 🇧🇦

🧵1/9 The #makeup_ban & personal freedoms: The #Latakia governorate’s decision to ban makeup for female employees in public institutions is framed as a neutral workplace regulation. However, it raises serious questions about personal freedoms, gender equality & state overreach.
The position of No 1 in the WTA, the leader of the biggest women’s sport in the world, has always been of great symbolism and importance. Sabalenka has used the position she has earned to open up the floor for people to trash her sport. theguardian.com/sport/2025/d…

The horrors in Darfur’s El-Fasher were no accident — they were the RSF's plan all along. The RSF has waged terror and committed unspeakable atrocities, genocide among them, against the Sudanese people. The RSF must be called what it is: a foreign terrorist organization and officially designated as one. America is not safer, secure or more prosperous with the RSF slaughtering thousands.

We welcome Syria’s arrest warrant for its former president Bashar al-Assad and support all efforts aimed at bringing him to justice.
Since December of last year, he has been hiding in Moscow, along with Ukrainian and other high-level criminals.
It is telling that the world’s most notorious murderers and criminals hide from justice in the capital of impunity.
Russia covers up its own and others’ crimes. The only way to end impunity is through pressure, collective action, and accountability for all crimes.
We are grateful to everyone around the world who helps to reinforce international law and rebuild countries after Bashar al-Assad and other douchebags leave them in ruins.

By definition, the parts of government that do the most good are the parts you never hear about, because when they succeed, nothing happens: no disease outbreaks, or terror attacks, or financial crashes, or horrible accidents.
These are the parts being slowly dismantled today.
