Infuriating this bougie hobby that didn’t exist 2 years ago is capable of not only getting politicians’ attention but commandeering public space, when futsal (3,000+ SF youth players) can’t even get training space and has been trying to obtain the same thing for at least a decade

Thank you to the 300+ people who came out last night for our Pickleball Town Hall with @RecParkSF. The diversity and passion of the pickleball community is incredible, and you have my commitment to create dedicated courts in District 4 — without years of bureaucracy.

There are so few basketball courts in SF that Rec & Parks won’t let you book them Dedicated pickle ball courts will have to be reserved I’m sure - it’s an absurdity, we don’t even know if the sport will still be there in a few years Keep sports equipment as flexible as possible

Anyway just another example of how people with too much time and money on their hands dictate the agenda in SF Rec & Parks + supes like @D4GordonMar know exactly where the urgent needs are in terms of public space for (youth) sports and instead choose to listen to these folks
Extremely sad and infuriating day for traffic violence in the Sunset as in addition to this vehicular murder at 24th/Santiago, a driver later hit a family on a cargo bike at 23rd Ave & Lincoln - aftermath looked awful. Politicians and SFMTA continue to have blood on their hands.

I’m heartbroken and angry to report a pedestrian fatality in the Sunset. Two seniors were struck and one of them killed by a driver racing east up Santiago who didn’t stop as they crossed the street at 24th Avenue.

from Reddit: a biker was trying to cross the Great Highway and a car hit them and dragged them for 100 feet. luckily they pulled through but they're looking for more info on what happened since they lost consciousness. if anybody knows anything please let them know

I was crossing over the crosswalk on Great Highway to ride on the Ocean Beach walkway. The last thing I remember was that I was struck by a car (white Nissan). From then on, I seized and lost all consciousness. So when it comes to memory, or even what happened - I'm kind of at a loss. The driver claims they had the right of way, but me being an incredibly experienced and responsible bike rider, I just cannot take her word. I believe she must've ran the red light and plowed into me. The police said I landed on her hood and she dragged me 100 Feet. This is another reason why I do not believe her story, because she did not stop for a very long time. .. My question was, does ANYONE have any info or may have been there on the 13th? It would've been Judah/Great Highway around 5:30pm on Tuesday. I was wearing a bright yellow jacket.
