Part 3: Demystifying OpenClaw 5 components: * Gateway (message routing) * Brain (ReAct loop) * Memory (Markdown files) * Skills (plain-English plugins) * Heartbeat (cron scheduler) Runs on Mac Mini. 234K stars. 10,700+ skills. 20% malicious. The architecture explained Link ↓

Part 2: The agent framework landscape Two categories people keep conflating: Developer toolkits (LangChain, CrewAI, Google ADK) → for engineers building products Personal assistants (OpenClaw, Claude Cowork) → for everyone doing work Solve completely different problems.👇️

Part 1: What are AI agents? Not "better chatbots." Not "reasoning models." Agents are systems where the LLM controls the program counter. It decides what tools to call, evaluates results, loops until done The difference between asking a colleague a question vs delegating a task.

I spent weeks inside OpenClaw & Claude Cowork. 234K GitHub stars. Mac Mini shortages. 20% malicious plugins. Sandboxed VMs. A platform war brewing Wrote a 5-part series breaking it all down - a technical version for engineers and a business version for everyone else

Anthropic just cut off OpenClaw from Claude subscriptions. No more Mac Mini + Openclaw + $20/mo Claude Pro plan, as of April 4. Two choices now: → Pay API rates to keep Claude → Switch to cheaper OSS models or gemini / openai / grok The AI agent platform war is now real .

The irony: this might make OpenClaw stronger. Forcing users off Claude accelerates the shift to model-agnostic operation. Lot os alternatives: Qwen, Kimi, Gemini, Openai, GLM, DeepSeek. When Apple locked down, Android didn't die. It diversified. Same thing will happen here.

I've been running both ecosystems side by side for months. Wrote the full analysis: * Why this is a platform war (not just a pricing change) * Where the real lock-in happens * What it means for the market madoit.substack.com/p/the-pe…

Problem of almost monopoly. @Swiggy one part order never delivered. The ca rep promised a refund. Got a partial refund. Now I have to chase them for my legitimate money. They almost don’t care. Really sad to see the depravity.

‘Data-driven’ = using metrics to make decisions… as long as no one asks which metric. 🤔📈

Startup or scam Booked a cab with @cabbazar confirmed 4pm pickup, I paid an advance Driver calls at 4:30 to says he pick up is 6 Or 6:30. I can’t cancel or get a refund. Nice model tie up customer and frustrate them. One more scam company to avoid.

Amazing how many founders I meet have had not customer contact even. Have been there as an engineer in my first startup but learnt my lessons the hard way.
Please save your startup from a lot of pain and talk to customers before wasting time solving a problem that does not exist.

Apart from the impact on @sama & the folks at @OpenAI. This has huge shock for broader GenAI ecosystem and community building on openai. Creating opportunity and urgency for alternatives from @Google @AIatMeta @grok @MistralAI @antrophic
