In 2014, I worked as an IA at @WillRogersSTEM alongside Mrs. Urias, a one-of-a-kind teacher. Though she retired in 2019, we have remained close friends. We have shared many moments together over the years in @SMMUSD & beyond. Today, she met my baby (the twinning was accidental)!

Today, we read Most Marshmallows by Rowboat Watkins and challenged ourselves to make marshmallow structures using mini marshmallows and toothpicks.
In TK, we’ve been setting goals for 2024 and talking about what it means to “put your best foot forward.” 🎊

After reading Latke, the Lucky Dog, one student mentioned that latkes and pancakes are “like the same but not exactly.” A double bubble @ThinkingMaps was the perfect way to organize our thinking about that!
As we read Stuck by @OliverJeffers, we drew all of the objects (and people and animals!!!) that get stuck in the tree.
Liquid watercolors from @Blick_Art are probably my favorite art material to use in TK. 🎨 After discussing and sorting warm vs. cool colors, we tested out some of our warm color watercolors using Q-tips. The results were beautiful! ❤️🧡💛
