A brother on Facebook keeps sharing this, and it keeps getting removed🤔. If you know him, please tag him here. I simply wanted to tidy it up and repost it.
With election season approaching, people deserve to see this record again.
Let's settle the claim: "#Democrats have done nothing for Black Americans."
Are Democrats perfect NO, and Black Americans have every right to demand more. Still, "nothing" requires ignoring generations of laws, policies, and results that Black activists, organizers, and leaders forced into existence.
The record:
Truman: desegregated the armed forces (1948).
#JFK : created affirmative action for federal contractors and signed the Equal Pay Act.
#LBJ: signed the #CivilRightsAct, #VotingRightsAct, Fair Housing Act, #Medicare and #Medicaid, Head Start, the Economic Opportunity Act, and major education funding laws.
#JimmyCarter: signed the Community Reinvestment Act, pushing banks to lend fairly in Black communities.
#BillClinton: signed the Family and Medical Leave Act, Motor Voter law, Violence Against Women Act, and expanded the Earned Income Tax Credit.
#BarackObama: signed the Affordable Care Act (cutting the Black uninsured rate by more than half), the Fair Sentencing Act, the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act, and Dodd-Frank. He appointed 62 Black #federaljudges, named the first Black attorney general, and nominated the first Black woman as deputy AG-equivalent leadership roles across government. He commuted more sentences than the six prior presidents combined.
#JoeBiden: signed the American Rescue Plan (cutting child poverty to record lows), the Infrastructure Law, the Emmett Till Antilynching Act, and the Inflation Reduction Act. His administration delivered $17 billion to #HBCU’s, tripled SBA lending to Black-owned businesses, and confirmed 235 federal judges - including 66 Black judges and 40 #Blackwomen, more than any administration in history. He made #Juneteenth a federal holiday, selected #KamalaHarris as the first Black woman vice president, and nominated #KetanjiBrownJackson as the first Black woman on the Supreme Court.
So when someone says "Democrats have done nothing," ask them which part they think doesn't exist: the Civil Rights Act? Medicare and Medicaid? The Fair Sentencing Act? The first Black VP? The first Black woman on the Supreme Court? The first Black President
Black voters examine the whole record - civil rights, healthcare, education, courts, business, and economic opportunity. Democrats still owe Black America more, and accountability continues. "Nothing" is still false.
What’s crazy I’m missing stuff!
I'm putting the record back up. Read it, save it, share it - and bring the receipts.

Yes she lost but let’s put some things into perspective: Vice President Kamala Harris won 75 million votes & held Trump to 1.47% in 107 days & was only 7,309 votes from flipping the house. Don't let these people gaslight you. Kamala Harris is very popular among Black voters.

Jackson was also the eldest brother to 7 of his siblings, whom his family said he loved deeply.
Pulse family, please take a moment to send your condolences to a student leader who is gone too soon 🕊️💙

**The One Big Beautiful Bill Act is rewriting the future for students, and Black students carry the heaviest weight.**
Starting July 1, 2026, the law caps federal student loans at $257,500 for life and eliminates Grad PLUS, the program grad students relied on to cover their full cost of attendance.
It also replaces income-driven repayment plans like IBR, PAYE, and SAVE with a new system that costs borrowers more each month. Black borrowers already carry the highest average student loan balances of any group, so this hits home hard.
The bill cuts nearly $350 billion from education funding, with $287 billion sliced from SNAP and $900 billion from health programs. Medicaid ranks as the third-largest funder of K-12 public education, so these cuts ripple straight into classrooms and services for students with disabilities.
The bill also launches the nation's first federal school voucher program. Vouchers trace back to segregationists who used them to dodge Brown v. Board of Education, and they continue to deepen racial segregation today.
Black college students report sacrificing basic needs just to stay enrolled as tuition climbs toward six figures at some schools. The article can be found at [thegrio.com](thegrio.com/2026/09/08/black…).
HBCUs serve large populations of low-income and first-generation students, and shrinking Medicaid and SNAP support puts real pressure on their ability to stay enrolled and finish strong.
**Know the facts. Share the facts. Protect access to education for the next generation.**
