If she becomes president in ‘28 or ‘32 she will not be able the have children (and even a senate run might prevent that), much less her ability to date and find a good partner who is willing to be the First Gentlemen
AOC: When most people run for office, they run very often as a second act or they run after a long career in lower levels of the ballot. But I was put in a very unique position. I was the youngest woman in history to get elected to congress. When you start your congressional career at 50, you’ve lived a lot of life. People have pursued education to the extent that they wanted to, their first carrers to the extent that they wanted to, family to the extent that they wanted to. And I got elected at the beginning of a lot of my life. So I’ve often tried to approach this as how do I do the most good and also try to have the same experiences that everyone else has tried to have. And how do I balance that with what is best for the country.

We shouldn't be mean to people who aren't academically smart but we absolutely have a right + responsibility to shame the intellectually incurious. The world is literally on fire because of anti-intellectualism
some of y’all are too mean to people that aren’t academically smart idk you treat it like a moral failure

It’s direct action with no theory. Lenin literally wrote about this—without theory, there’s no revolution. The protests are amazing at showing working-class rage, but because they lack a cohesive structural alternative to capitalism, the state just waits them out. It keeps the status quo perfectly intact. Effectively, there needs to be direct action which is guided by strict political theory and a long-term organisational strategy. This can’t happen if there is no political organisation aiding with this, and I think that’s the ultimate issue.
If French protests are so effective why are they still stuck with neoliberalism? Why is their country still loyal to Israel and NATO? Why is the French ruling class completely unresponsive to French protester demands? You guys realize that this is like the 100th time in the last 10 years that France has erupted in protests over neoliberalism right? Americans tend to romanticize these protests but what have they accomplished? French protesters engage in revolutionary adventurism but don’t have a follow up on how to change the system in a meaningful way. So we repeat the same cycle over and over This is not a diss on the French protesters at all because they are just reacting to their material conditions, which is normal. But at what point do we begin having the conversation that western liberal democracy as a whole completely failed and no amount of “protests” will fix it. Protests without further revolutionary action of building real dual power seems to amount to nothing in the west

I think the challenge of AUs exposes which writers understand the canon characters because that understanding means the characters can fit into any scenario without sacrificing the core of who they are. Very important skill and why a lot of AUs don’t hit right.
sometimes i feel like the odd one out in fandoms/shipping spaces as someone who doesn't really like AUs😭 i wish i got the appeal but unfortunately i like my blorbos in their original world the most

While it’s true some people dismiss astrology on misogynist grounds, I’m afraid that Le Guin said it best.
anti-astrology is always a veiled misogyny

A "Scaramucci" is still the standard unit of measurement. All other press secretaries are measured against a Scaramucci, even those fired more quickly. There isn't any need to muck up the units with more metric v. imperial faultlines.

I actually hate astrology discourse because you do always feel like you’re kicking ten million puppies when you tell people that it’s not real and on top of that people love to lay the gender guilt trip on you about it too. mind you it was developed by fucking men lol.

This does fundamentally misunderstand the purpose of fanfic. Fanfic isn’t training wheels for original writing, it’s playing make believe with dolls with a community of folks also obsessed with the same dolls.
On fanfiction. There's nothing wrong with thinking up and dreaming alternatives to famous books and stories . But that's where it should stop. As soon as you decide to write it down -- stop. Don't. Instead, turn that energy into dreaming of your own book, your own story. Want to change Harry Potter? Write a better fantasy. Capture the feeling you want, but create something else entirely. Why live in someone else's world and cage yourself to using their scraps, their plot holes? Be free, writers. Be free, readers. You can leap from world to world. Imagine new places and people. Become infatuated with your own imagination, instead of that of others. There are limitless books out there. Find them, read them, write them. Dream bigger, dream deeper. Maybe it won't be as fun at first, but eventually you'll realize that your mind has superseded the tiny worlds of the Malfoids or Star Wars what-ifs or whatever else is popular. You'll be making your own worlds. You'll be the master. Your magic system. Your characters. You'll be free to defeat the potholes, to create romances, adventures, horrors, deaths. You'll dine on steak and wonder how you ever ate happy meals. I know this because I started writing with the Eragon series in mind, but I refused to make a fanfic. Instead, I imagined my own world, carefully molding it. It was a terrible book, but it opened my eyes to new ideas, new places, new dreams. Use your fanfiction ideas as inspiration, but never as the foundation. Build your own foundation, my friends. Sprout wings and fly. The world of stories is endless. Why chain yourselves?

we need to let men call women whores otherwise they might vote for politicians that explode the global economy which will send them off to die in foreign wars after they kill dozens of innocent civilians for no reason
The response to Shane Gillis's joke is why we lose elections, by the way.

this is the most accurate tweet of all time:
I think a lot of even left-leaning people are inclined to downplay one of the more famous current comedians calling all women “whores” on one of the country’s most well known shows bc of how misogynistic it is on here daily but that’s actually really scary and bad he did that

I have at least one regular internal monologue going at once with music and a radio-static like hum and *genuinely* cannot imagine knowing a second of peace from my internal monologue
the idea that most people have an internal monologue bugs me the fuck out. like what do you mean there are words in your head???? wouldnt it take forever compared to just thinking in vague concepts and pictures? having an inner voice seems like it would be annoying

I genuinely believe that a Democrat putting forth a French- or Australian-type universal health care plan -- universal public coverage, private top-up insurance for anyone who wants it, basically an improved version of existing Medicare expanded to everyone -- would be formidable in 2028. This strikes me as a more rational and coherent approach than, as some Democrats are doing right now, proposing an extraordinarily generous Medicare plan covering absolutely everything and then allowing copycat major medical coverage. In my plan, the private insurance "choice" remains for supplemental coverage, which would also preserve flexibility for providers. What I'm proposing would be cheaper, and harder for Republicans and lobbyists to attack without lying.

I will say, the dementia letting the bisexuality constantly slip has been a fun part of trump 2.0
Trump on Jon Husted: "I don't do this with men very often. I started examining his body because I didn't know he was a great athlete. And I looked and I watched up and down. I looked at his ass and I looked at the whole... And then I looked at his hands. Look at his hands. He's got these claws."

male submissives really do seem to struggle so much with theory of mind. they genuinely seem to think they're offering you a real prize in the chance to step on their wiener or whatever
Replying to @surrealwhore
AssSniffer says he wants to serve you. You ask AssSniffer how he thinks he could be of use, bracing yourself for the inevitable "I could sniff Your ass, Goddess" but it never comes. Instead, he wants to stick things in his urethra.
