A reminder: The majority of The Pitt's viewers are casual audiences, who do not participate in fandom culture, as manifested by shipping characters and inviting (and sometimes, inciting) discourse. Most mainstream audience members do not devote the show's "off-season" to digesting cast/crew-centric content, such as articles, interviews, and conspiracy theories. Most mainstream audience members do not create or consume fan art or fan fiction. Within the subset of The Pitt's viewing population exists those who do very much participate in fandom culture (myself included). Fans devote the show's "off-season" to digesting cast/crew-centric content, such as articles, interviews, and conspiracy theories. Fans create or consume fan art or fan fiction. Fans keep the show's "buzz" buzzing. Fans are the "bees" that protect the "hive" - the show's momentum in the interim period between seasons. Within fandom culture exists subsets of the subset - monoshippers, multi-shippers, and many other nominers I never came to learn the definition of, because community should never be a catalyst for division. There are multiple ways to arrive at the same destination - expressing creativity, making friends, and having fun. Most people - mainstream audiences, The Pitt's cast and crew, and fans - are rational, decent people, who do not needlessly hate "the powers that be"- The Pitt's actors, producers, and technical team. Most people find joy in building cornerstones of community wherever their cup is overflowing - whether it be in building things, collecting things, making music, or participating in a fandom-sanctioned fundraiser - with comfort and purpose.
