Exactly. The left abandoned the traditional conception of environmental stewardship and natural resource protection in favor of climate ideology. We have done the largest environmental restoration project — the Everglades — in US history. We are now doing some of the federal projects related to the effort on behalf of the Feds (we do it quicker in FL). Huge accomplishment for our state and the nation!
Replying to @RonDeSantis
Ironically you’re actually really good on the environment, just real issues like clean water and preserving natural spaces. Just not the whack job climate scam ideas that jacks up fuel prices. You wouldn’t believe how my state blows “Climate Commitment Act” $ 🥴🤦🏼‍♀️

It was worse than that. Romney did it to sabotage DeSantis when DeSantis was trying to give the GOP an alternative to Trump in 2024 I generally like Mitt Romney, but Romney shoved DeSantis under a bus with zero provocation floridapolitics.com/archives…

Romney attacked DeSantis and called him an authoritarian during COVID. That was the basis of his rebuke of Romney. You're going to have to give him *some* room to operate.

This is crazy. I don't like that this is happening to my country. Teaching your kids the basics will make the world better in ways you cannot imagine.
The newer generations are unemployable, so I shut down a business yesterday. I have many small businesses I got involved in, one is a Saltwater fish store. It sells fish, corals, aquariums etc. The most profitable part of one of these stores is outside Maintenance. Going to peoples houses, changing the fish tanks water, cleaning glass etc. This is a very simple job, you run a hose in from the truck, suck water out, pump water in (nothing manual), and use a magnetic razor blade to clean the glass. Take a water sample and leave. We had 4 trucks and 6 guys doing this... then 5, 4, 3... each person that quit put more work on the ones left. We tried to hire, it's a very low skill job. Most maintenance guys make $15-18 an hour. We went upto $35 an hour to try and get people. Beyond that we cannot be profitable. The job is easy, you have to have a license (actually hard as hell apparently), and pass a background check (youre in peoples homes, also hard as hell). Pass a drug test. At $35 an hour we got the following. Someone that caused almost 8k of damage when they started pumping in water, went out "for a smoke" and the tank overflowed. At least 5 hires that went through background tests, drug tests etc then didn't show for work the 1st day and never called us again. Someone that intentionally pulled the guard off the water pumping hose, and sucked someones fish into the pump. Someone that scratched the District Attourney of las vegas, Steve Wolfson's tank by deciding to not use the magnetic razor, and "do it by hand"... fo no fucking reason. (4k bill) A wrecked van Someone who stole our water tester (1500 dollar machine). I have no empathy, at least in Las Vegas, for people complaining about no work, no jobs blah blah blah. $6000 a month to put hoses in and out of a tank and look at pretty fish.

With all due respect, the number of times I spoke with Paul Ryan from my election as governor through the 2024 campaign: zero. And Mitt Romney was attacking me back then because we beat Disney on gender ideology and he is a corporatist. Try demonstrating a little more discernment next time someone is peddling bullsh— to you.
Now THIS is the Ron DeSantis that I wanted to see on the National Stage the last time he ran for President, but didn’t deliver on! Unfortunately, he allowed Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan advise him back then, when Americans knew how RINO’ish those two were back then. So there advise made him look like a fool. But now, his confidence is back … “I saw NO INDICATION that Republican senators were interested in doing conservative change! WHY haven't we done immigration, SHUT OFF H1B visas?! WHY haven't we CODIFIED Trump's immigration executive orders?! Why haven't we STRIPPED jurisdiction from the federal courts over deportation cases?! There's SO MANY THINGS we COULD HAVE DONE." "THEY DIDN'T EVEN ATTEMPT IT." "They say, 'oh, if only we needed 50 votes we would've done it!' YOU DON'T HAVE 50 VOTES. You NEVER SHOWED you'd do conservative things, even with 50 votes! [RE: filibuster]...I NEVER saw an indication that they'd do it." "This midterm was a rebuke of the president and Congress...BUT, a LOT of our voters stayed home because they were FRUSTRATED with the LACK of productivity from Republicans in the House and Senate." We definitely deserved better from our Senate, something John Thune did not want to deliver. Now, we need to repair and win in 2028, or Democrats are destroying America!

Another reason DeSantis was able to hold the line in Florida: He didn’t go along with the idiotic idea to give a senate seat to Trump’s daughter-in-law. Had he caved to all the pressure to appoint Lara Trump, Angie Nixon would be the senator-elect in Florida.

By the way, this constant tracking of where the electorate is and responding with conservative policy accordingly, is how you win reelection by 20% and have coattails powerful enough to win Republicans every statewide office in a year they lost Texas and Kansas.
This is the truth. I’m glad we slayed gender ideology and protected women’s sports in Florida years ago, but just banging that drum every two years is not going to cut it with so many other issues that need to be addressed.

As we sort through last night’s results, let’s remember two things: 1) The ultimate battle isn’t about politics or parties. It’s about truth, and the freedom to speak it. 2) The long game is what counts. There is reason for concern. This election will certainly reenergize the far left in its effort to spread and enforce progressive ideology—with all its attendant threats to free speech, religious liberty, parental rights, life, and the rule of law. @ADFLegal and its allies are already gearing up to defend those freedoms, just as we did during the Obama and Biden administrations. We’ve been here before. We know the playbook. But setting aside party politics to look at the larger fight for truth, we shouldn’t miss last night’s giant bright spot. In four states—including deep-blue Washington and Colorado—it appears that voters have passed referendums to keep men out of women’s sports and spaces. By solid margins. In a blue wave year. This tells us that whatever leftist politicians may hope to do, the American people still value reality. They aren’t ready to abandon truth. And this represents a shift in the right direction. More Americans are embracing biological reality today than just a few years ago. Getting here took hard work, alliance-building, persuasion—and, sadly, more than a few people learning the hard way by watching women and girls suffer the consequences of a lie. If working at ADF has shown me anything, it is that sometimes you have to lose before you can win. But I would never bet against truth in the long run. It always has a way of rising back up and reasserting itself. And lies have a way of producing harms that become impossible to deny. But let’s be clear: we can’t effectively fight for truth without practicing and modeling it. And too many of our candidates have fallen woefully short. Americans are rightly hungry for leaders of integrity, competence, and principle. They want a vision to believe in, and our side has the ideas that actually work. So if the left succeeds in making the failed ideas of Marx and Engels appear more ethical or compassionate than the brilliance of Jefferson and Madison—who founded the most prosperous and free nation in human history—we truly have no one to blame but ourselves. Today isn’t a day to blackpill. It’s a day to refocus on the long game, remember that our real fight is for truth, and have confidence knowing that truth is a powerful force to set people free. And if you’re a believer in Christ, it’s always a good day to trust Him and remember that our ultimate hope isn’t in any earthly government, but in His eternal kingdom. Onward.

🇺🇸 Ron DeSantis doesn't think voters suddenly "fell in love" with Democrats; they hated the GOP more: “Democrats aren't popular. This was not a positive view of the Democrats. This was a REJECTION of Republicans in Washington.” That's a pretty important distinction if Republicans are trying to figure out what went wrong... And correct course in time for 2028. Writer: Lynn

The first party after today that governs this country quietly, calmly, and with minimal interventions upending daily life will win a generational majority. The Democrats got that chance in 2020 and failed, giving us Woke 1.0 and the rise of antisemitism on campus and in culture. The Republicans got the chance in 2024 and failed, giving us tariffs, trade wars, battles with Canada and Denmark (giving Canada Mark Carney), ballrooms, arches, and corrupt familial crypto schemes. And so the worm has turned again. The first party after today to govern this country like Calvin Coolidge will win durable majorities and marginalize the other party. The next president will need to deal, finally, with the impending bankruptcy of Social Security and Medicare and the national debt. For the Republican Party, perhaps that would be the place to start.
