Hunger in America isn't a new problem. But it is a solvable one. In 1969 the first and only @WhiteHouse Conference on Food, Nutrition and Health led to landmark legislation and less hunger. It's time for new voices, new ideas and a new White House conference to #EndHungerNow.

73 years ago, women were allowed to serve as permanent members of the US military. Women veterans make up the fastest-growing veteran cohort. It is up to us to make sure that all 2 million of them are are treated with the dignity and respect they deserve. #WomenVeteransDay

When the government shut down, food banks and pantries across the country worked hard to help anyone who came through their doors - including families who needed to visit for the first time. Help us thank the hardworking staff and volunteers: bit.ly/2UX5TPm

Here's the truth: @HouseGOP #2018FarmBill cuts over $20 BILLION in food aid to America's poorest families. It hurts 2 MILLION kids, #veterans, and many of our country's most vulnerable. These aren't just numbers. Real people will suffer. Americans deserve a hell of a lot better.

It warms my heart to hear @HouseDemocrats on the @HouseAgNews committee during the #farmbill mark up speak in defense of #SNAP and the 43 million Americans who count on it to have enough to eat during tough times. #SNAPworks

We hosted a showcase to highlight the importance of eating breakfast. Belcher Elementary celebrated its success with the "Alternate Breakfast" model, which provides grab-n-go meals for students. Eating a #schoolbreakfast fuels learning! youtu.be/9D2cCvc0CAk

THANK YOU @SenatorLeahy for championing #farmtoschool in the omnibus appropriations bill! The additional $5M now available to the USDA Farm to School Grant Program means more health, local food for kids in schools & new market opportunities for farmers. Thank you!
