I’m trying to get some trees planted on my (tree-less) road. I got this polite text from a neighbour who’s anti-tree. When did no trees = clean become a thing? @TreesforCities @NewhamGreens @jonburkeUK
Hi @coopuk, just to let you know that your new shop in Plaistow has the most overpowering smell of sewage - staff have said there is a burst pipe. It seems to be getting worse. Hope it’s getting sorted? Puts one off buying food, just a bit 🤢💩😷
Hi @Sadik4Pharmacy, This family are your constituents and could really do with your support. I know you said you will get back to them soon but they are really struggling. facebook.com/share/p/ETP1bhu…

As a child I had a nagging sense that someone was going to break in my house in the middle of the night.
Or, that my parents would die.
Here's why we have anxious, crisis thoughts:
Hey @popsa, I had a 50% off deal that has suddenly disappeared from the app and I’m not sure why. Would you be able to help me please? 🙏

#FaroeIslands killed between 40-50 #PilotWhales last night (15.5.23), they butchered them this morning. SSUK "We believe pregnant females were killed this evening. But the locals are pushing the crew back & blocking them from documenting their proud tradition"

He can, of course, support whoever he likes and as Pres of FA his role makes visit understandable - but surely he sees holding the title Prince of Wales at same time is entirely inappropriate? Not a shred of embarrassment? Or sensitivity to the problem here? #PrinceofWales
The #ThreeLions heading to @FIFAWorldCup were given a special send-off by being presented with their tournament squad numbers by His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales.

So the PM Liz Truss has decided that we should use land for food production and not #solarenergy.
Here's an infographic of current land use in the UK. Solar farms occupy 0.1% - almost too small to see. Golf courses on the other hand...
Solar farms cover less than 0.1% of the UK's land area
See if you can spot them
(Our dataviz whizz @tomoprater added them to this non-geographically specific map infographic)

Forced hijab is not “cultural.” Here are pre-1979 images of women in Iran and women protesting forced veiling at the inception of the Islamic Republic. And the vast majority of Iranian women who leave Iran remove their veils.

Enough is enough. We need an emergency energy plan.
Renewables, insulation, heat pumps, energy saving measures, higher benefits for those falling into fuel poverty.
Right now. Not a long term plan. Not 'by the end of this Parliament'. Not next year. Right now.

Genuine question . Could someone please post a link to a clear explanation of why the energy price caps are being increased . Because superficially it seems that it’s providing the suppliers with colossal profits and a counterproductive dependence on dirtier fossil fuels . Thanks

⏰ Londoners: you only have until 29 July (Friday!) to say you want a London-wide clean air zone. @MayorofLondon is late to this but needs to hear a big ✅ for ULEZ from everyone. All our health depends on cleaner air. My responses to crib from are here: london.gov.uk/about-us/londo…

A short story about how a normal girl in a denim jacket had to be sort of rescued by a man in Lycra. And why cycling should be safe for all.
I was cycling in Crouch End this morning, and it looked like this, and I actually didn’t know what to do, because the pavement … 1/7

Have you responded to the TfL consultation to expand the #ULEZ London-wide yet? Please take just 1 minute of your time to show you care about #CleanAir and want the next generation to breathe more easily. Deadline 29th July. bit.ly/uleztool

London people, this closes today 29th July and takes 1 minute to do. Let TfL know the Ultra Low Emission Zone should cover all of London. A bigger ULEZ will reduce health inequities across the capital #CleanAir👇. #WeLoveULEZ #AirPollution action.wearepossible.org/pag…

Having 10 more trees on a city block decreases cardio-metabolic conditions comparably to earning $20K extra. Improves sense of well-being as much as earning an extra $10K, moving to a neighbourhood with $10K higher median income, or being 7 yrs younger.

Thinking of incredible work @jonburkeUK did in Hackney on a dizzying amount of areas - active travel, anti-air-pollution, street trees, making brave decisions on reducing car usage - where's that in these areas, particularly ones where the Greens have been in power for a while?
