Share your wallet for one payment, and you’ve shared your entire save file. Every amount you’ve earned, spent, and stashed is visible to the next player. Sombra keeps your inventory yours, because privacy is freedom.

Every quantum attack on crypto will start the same way: cracking the elliptic-curve signature. Sombra has none; a zero-knowledge proof authorizes every spend instead. You can't pick a lock that isn't there.

Institutions don't avoid on-chain finance because it's too private. They avoid it because it's too public. Payroll, treasury, supplier payments, all visible to competitors and anyone with a block explorer. Sombra makes on-chain finance private enough for real business, on a network like Solana that never closes.

Solana won on speed. Now it wins on privacy. Solana gave the world fast, cheap, public transactions, but every balance, transfer, and counterparty is on display forever. Sombra closes that gap. Send privately. Reveal only what you choose, to whom you choose. Keep the speed, drop the audience. The next era of Solana is private. We're building it.

In most companies, salaries are confidential. On-chain, they're one search away. Sombra keeps them where they belong.

Public networks were built for openness. Finance was built for discretion, and for years, you had to pick one. Sombra is where the two finally meet. Private by nature. Compliant by design. Secure for the future.

A $5 wrench attack starts with research: which address is worth the wrench. a transparent chain answers that for free, attackers pick victims off public balances Inside Sombra, there's nothing to read: no balance, no activity, vaults that can't be linked or added up, so you're never on the list of people worth robbing

The scary part isn't quantum breaking Bitcoin's signatures. It's that "just fork it" is not a plan when the coins that need upgrading belong to people who can't sign anymore. Great lecture from Boneh on what the actual migration looks like from other blockchains.
Can a sufficiently powerful quantum computer forge the signatures used to authorize Bitcoin and Ethereum transactions? What would it take to upgrade both networks before that happens? In this new lecture, Stanford cryptographer @danboneh explores why blockchains may turn to signatures built from hash functions. He also presents new research on threshold signing. The talk ends with the questions Bitcoin still has to answer, including whether post-quantum signatures will require larger blocks, what happens to abandoned coins, and how someone such as Satoshi could prove ownership after Bitcoin’s current signatures have been retired. 00:00 Why blockchains need to prepare for quantum computers 03:05 Why Bitcoin may bet on hash-based signatures 06:25 The “big footgun” in stateful signatures 08:58 A quantum-safe signature that takes one billion hashes 14:13 Inside SLH-DSA’s virtual tree 20:30 How Bitcoin and Ethereum could make the switch 23:48 What happens when a wallet loses its state? 32:47 Can threshold signing survive the quantum transition? 36:39 How to hide lattice cryptography from the blockchain 38:49 Why threshold one-time signatures seem impossible 45:36 How context prevents forged signatures 49:37 The forgotten idea behind Winternitz signatures 54:50 Turning one-time signatures into threshold signatures 1:04:27 Will quantum-safe signatures require bigger Bitcoin blocks? 1:06:26 Abandoned bitcoin and Satoshi’s recovery problem

Institutions are told that privacy rails solve their confidentiality problem. Here's what the pitch skips: a privacy chain can upgrade its cryptography, but it can't unpublish its history. When shielded pools falls to a quantum computer, the entire archive decrypts retroactively. This is why Sombra didn't retrofit, we launched post-quantum from genesis on Solana without the expiry date.

Crypto grew up – Institutions came, and regulations arrived. The missing piece? Privacy that simply works and lasts. For everyone, by default. That’s Sombra.

When a desk like JP Morgan moves a tokenised treasury on-chain, the size, the timing and the counterparty are all public, so the market front-runs the settlement. And there's a second problem nobody prices in: a 30-year bond outlives the encryption protecting it. Anything shielded with today's cryptography can be harvested now and decrypted long before that instrument matures.

We're talking about quantum now, not because there's an emergency today, but because waiting until there is an emergency could be much too late. Credit to Binance for setting the standard on how to talk about this
Is quantum computing a real threat to your crypto today? Binance’s CSO answers five key questions on the real timeline, the real risks, and how Binance is preparing. At Binance, protecting users means thinking ahead, including for the quantum era.

Quantum-resistant signatures stop tomorrow's forgeries. They do nothing for yesterday's data. Good to see TRON moving on this. The space needs more of it, and sooner.
TRON is building for the quantum era now. With post-quantum security already being tested on the Nile Testnet, our goal is clear: become the first quantum-resistant blockchain network.
