A student studies.
A learner learns.
I'd rather design learning for learners than give stuff for students to study.
Who comes to our room has everything to do with what we do before they get there.
Design learning.

Good morning. Not everyone is at your level or your speed. And that’s okay. But never doubt there will be people who do see your value. And the best thing you can do is pay it forward. Keep unearthing the treasures around you. You get to be the light on a cloudy day. Happy Wednesday✨

If you don't think morale is important, remember that a student's learning environment is created by the teacher. A teacher who is supported, valued, & appreciated will create a more positive & dynamic learning environment than a teacher who is not.

Good morning. Human expression & communication is often a beautiful mess. The best we can do is listen & acknowledge each other. Say what you mean & mean what you say. At the end of the day people just want to add value & make a dent in this time & this space. Today bang your chest & roar. You are here. Happy Friday✨

Stay true to your core on the journey. There will be negative variables, naysayers, and doubts. We grow better from those encounters. Your core is constant and so is your truth.

Culture is not just one thing; it’s everything. Culture drives expectation and beliefs. Expectations and beliefs drive behaviors. Behaviors drive habits. And habits create the future. It all starts with culture.

A Tier 1 designed for learning to happen intentionally for all learners.

Administrators, take care of the ones who take care of the students. It creates a dynamic positive school culture. Remember the teachers working environment is the students learning environment.

Your Purpose is greater than your why. "Why" often pertains to a specific context or role, such as in pursuing a career, but a person's purpose is a more encompassing overarching sense of meaning and direction in life.

When we discuss student engagement, we never discuss the importance of teacher engagement. Gallup research says employees ( including teachers) are 6 times more engaged when they feel valued and that their strengths are utilized. This creates a dynamic learning environment!

This year, instead of telling kids they and we have a job to do, let's tell them we have a purpose to pursue.
Together we grow, so together we can live.
Opportunity. Responsibility. Community. Humanity.

I heard a principal speak recently and throughout the entire presentation she said “our school” not “my school” when talking about where she serves as principal.

Reminder.
The kids are back.
It's up to us to make them feel:
More welcomed than worried,
More belonging than belittling,
More accepted than excluded,
More loved on than left out.
Not just at the beginning of the year.
But all year.

If you want to build a winning team, you must value all team members for who they are, not just what they do.
Every person, no matter how successful, wants to be appreciated, respected, and valued. Everyone wants to feel cared about. Everyone, ultimately, wants to be loved.
