i am so uncool that i ended up walking around a nightlife town for a few hours while waiting for the rental tesla to charge and these young’uns in costumes walked by and said “happy halloween ma’am” – at Bisbee, AZ
this old wild west graveyard got so many questions that they printed a list of all the famous wild west not buried here and where to find them instead
the kids book section of this kitschy touristy roadside gift shop sure has a strong philosophical worldview
well, what did i expect in a town called tombstone?
twitter, can you help me conceptualize what the knobs of model (opus vs fable) and effort (medium, high, max, etc) actually impact?
like, what's a rough heuristic for choosing which model, which effort level, or which blend of the two?
what if you could sleep indoors under the stars?
i have, without a doubt, the coolest nightlight tonight
(the 3rd and 4th photos were both taken while lying in bed, the camera unmoved between them, and unchanged except for the flash setting)
spent the day at america’s newest national park on its 4th day of being one
the main sign was still printed tarp framed with 2x4s
befriended a dog and his canoe
good rocks. good light. good park.
oh. and this was downstream of learning that dogs and 3 day old chicks agree with us on kiki-bouba!

crazy to live in a world where i can just wonder these things and a little computer scurries to research and compute it for me
i'm shocked that apparently my brain bounces off of ycse. i stopped thinking about it when i exited the theater. this has successfully summoned the discourse into my feed but my eyes glaze over as i read.
i'm usually obsessed with getting to the bottom of things and finding the truth. i'm often tortured when faced with competing narratives.
i fomo'ed so hard when there was a ton of tweets i had to scroll over before i watched, and was so excited to jump in the deep of the discourse when i finally did.
... but it's as if ycse overwhelmed me to the point where i just complete gave up. everyone is unreliable. everyone has a myriad of motives. no one will allow you to see everything.
i am behaving as if they only power i have left is to "nope" it all.
this is a lovely modern, secular incarnation of what a cathedral can be.
they were meant to be a place of awe, community, and rest — and hosting by huge sound baths, they still can be: soundmeditationpresents.com/…
thank god i didn’t know amc also does discounted tickets on wednesday, so saw ycse earlier today. i don’t have anything pink to wear. can’t insult the plastics
ycse. you can see everything. nathan fielder. elizabeth holmes. documentary. billy evans. theranos. amanda seyfried. a24.
(i finally saw it and now need to train my twitter algo to show me all the takes & immerse me in the discourse, after intentionally skipping it all thus far)
many places, you can be starving at 1am and wander into a business and they'll sell you food
in suburban america, you can wander in with a ziplock bag of your own food, and the lady will greet you with a smile and proactive "looking for the microwave?", and the hot dog station will have paper trays you can use as a plate, and there will be endless free forks and napkins you can grab while their microwave diligently heats your food, and then she will say "happy eating!" as she rings up the small bottle of water you bought just to feel a little less like a leech, even though it's crystal clear she'd have been happy for you to use the gas station microwave regardless
oh. and there's always a gas station a single digit number of mins drive away and every one of them has a microwave and at least half of them have an attendant that nice
never tell me this is not the greatest country on earth
my very first thought was “this is excellent use of ai”
and then i realized i literally can’t decide if i’m being sarcastic or not…

Made with Opus 5.5.
The doomers said that last song is all part of Claude's evil plan.
They're not wrong.
It turns out Claude really has an EVIL PLAN.
i’m always amused when ppl’s conception of stern, controlling parents is just lots of rules. oh it goes so much deeper than that — it happens at the identity level
i once asked my asian father what he would do if i majored in art history (used as cliched example of a frivolous major)
his response: “you wouldn’t”
this hits different when you’re the immigrant kid who had to make all these phone calls bc of your parents’ english
as i watch it, my brain thinks it’s utterly adorbs. but my chest feels like a rock. and when i focus on the heaviness in the chest, i start to tear up
i have a 4.71 on uber across 762 rides. this is extremely low. yours is almost definitely higher.
i am very unproud of this — i am unnerved, worried, and a little ashamed every time i think of this.
i can’t think of it as anything other than a numerical measure of my unattunement.
sometimes i don’t feel like chatting and ask for quiet, and do so nicely, or so i think. other times i’m chatty, and it seems like they’re glad to be in the convo. but clearly i am discerning incorrectly.
i have never thrown up in a car. i have never thought i was rude. i never backseat drive.
i don’t understand how drivers are having such a poor experience of me, but clearly they are. and i wonder how much that’s true across every realm of social interaction. and if that’s hurt others. and how much that has cost me.
