The past races have shown: Red Bull has returned to the top. The team has not only improved the chassis in recent races. The Power Unit has also become an important factor in Max Verstappen's success. After the victories in Malaysia and Singapore, the Red Bull is even considered by the competition to be the strongest overall package. The progress in the engine is not due to a new specification. Red Bull Powertrains has not homologated any additional hardware this season. Instead, the engineers succeeded in operating the existing drive unit more consistently in the optimal working window. Early in the season, there were indications that the engine developed in Milton Keynes had great potential. In racing, however, Red Bull was not able to call up the performance regularly. The combustion engine reacted sensitively to different operating conditions.
