Gabby and I saw Dolores Huerta earlier this year, and she had so much energy and fight. I'm so sad to hear of her passing. I'm thinking of her family and everyone in Arizona and across the country who looked up to her. It's hard to overstate how many lives she changed and how many people she inspired to stand up, organize, and make a difference in their communities. She was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom for leading historic farm worker contracts and advancing civil rights, women’s rights, and social justice. She set an incredibly high bar for what one person can accomplish, but she also showed us that we all have a part to play. I can't think of a better legacy than that.

Dolores Huerta was a labor champion and civil rights leader who never wavered in the fight for hardworking Americans. Thanks to her leadership, workers have higher wages, better benefits, and safer working conditions. Rest in power, Dolores Huerta.

Union workers keep Arizona’s economy running. I met with Teamsters Local 104 to hear about their organizing efforts at the Stock Yards and understand how rising costs are impacting their members. Now more than ever, workers deserve fair pay, good benefits, and a strong voice on the job.

On the heels of AI guardrail bills like No Robot Bosses & No Fakes it’s promising to see bills like @RepCasar's AI Tax & Work Protection Act & @SenMarkKelly's Make AI Work for Working Americans Act to counter AI disruptions & drive the conversation to making workers’ lives better

Kudos to @SenMarkKelly for not waiting for major AI job dislocation to start laying the foundation for putting jobs & workers first. His bill admirably lays out specific AI revenue sources to fund not only needed training, but also National Service jobs & entrepreneurship.
As AI changes our economy, workers and their families should come first, not the bottom lines of tech CEOs. My Make AI Work for Americans Act creates the AI Horizon Fund to support workers and help them succeed, paid for by Big Tech and the companies benefiting most from AI.

Workers and students, not just Big Tech, must benefit from the AI boom. That’s why @InnovateEDU backs @SenMarkKelly’s Make AI Work for Americans Act. "We have a generational responsibility to ensure every student and worker is equipped for this new landscape." – CEO @erinmote

Artificial intelligence is poised to reshape our economy in ways we can't yet predict, and we need to prepare now so that Arizonans aren't left behind. I'm grateful to Senator Kelly for his leadership on this issue. Arizona is fortunate to have him fighting for our workers.
When I flew off aircraft carriers and launched into space, we fixed problems before people got hurt. That's why I'm introducing the Make AI Work for Americans Act, which taxes the companies benefiting the most from AI and uses that money to invest in workers and give them more opportunities.

If we invest in data centers, in infrastructure and compute, why not invest in workers? Well done @SenMarkKelly. A pleasure to met you at #UNGA26

No one knows how fast AI will change work, and that uncertainty is the reason to plan now. I’m grateful to see Sen Kelly introduce this bill to put support in place before the disruption arrives.

It was revealed that Dolly Parton was secretly battling cancer but she didn't say anything and instead released this song as one of her last to raise funds for children with cancer. Even while she was sick she was still thinking about others. I’m absolutely devastated.

6 months ago, federal agents shot and killed Renee Good and Alex Pretti. A week ago, ICE shot and killed Lorenzo Salgado Araujo. Yesterday, ICE shot and killed Joan Sebastian Guerrero, a father in Biddeford, Maine. They should be alive today. Because of ICE, they’re not.
The ICE agents who shot and killed a 26-year-old father in Biddeford, Maine, were searching for a different person, per DHS Sec. Markwayne Mullin. The man they shot was authorized to work in the United States and had been issued a Social Security number.

Well, she looks pretty great to me @captmarkkelly 😘
👀 Who is this woman that Arizona Democrat Senator Mark Kelly @SenMarkKelly was getting handsy with yesterday while he was sporting Mexico’s jersey during the World Cup game? A US Senator who represents a BORDER STATE wearing Mexico’s jersey is bad enough, but I thought he was “super loyal” to his medically brain dead wife who was shot in the head? 🧐 @GabbyGiffords this doesn’t look like you. Who is the other woman? 🤔 @NRSC @SenateDems
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The woman in the photo is Gabby Giffords, Kelly's wife. Kelly posted the photo himself from a Tucson watch party. Additionally, Giffords is not "brain dead" — she survived her 2011 injury and remains publicly active, including returning to the House floor in January 2026. dailymail.com/news/article-1… times-standard.com/2026/01/08/con… en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gabby_Gif…

This administration has an opportunity to make our country stronger and more prosperous by accepting this proposal and ensuring Arizona communities will have the Colorado River water we need for the future, while we continue to develop the necessary long-term solutions to solve this most pressing issue. I urge the Bureau of Reclamation to thoroughly evaluate and adopt this proposal in the Final EIS.

In Phoenix today to hear from food truck and small business owners. Fuel, food, supplies. Prices are up across the board and it's squeezing Arizonans. I'm focused on bringing down costs, because it shouldn't be so hard to run a business and get ahead.

Name calling from a draft dodger doesn't bother me. What bothers me is a clueless commander in chief who took our country to war without a strategy because no one around him has the guts to tell him when he's wrong.
Trump: "Mark Kelly is not a smart man. He's terrible. What he said is terrible about leadership. Leadership. Follow him. You follow him into a grave. He's terrible. He's a pathetic guy. But they're pathetic."
