Sheeeessshhh!!!
Tom Brady says his career turned around when a sports psychologist told him to stop complaining about what he wasn’t getting and start stewarding what he had the right way
“Greg said to me, ‘Why don’t you quit bitching about all the things you’re not getting, and how about you do the best with whatever opportunities you get?’, ‘Stop worrying about what the other quarterback’s getting. Stop worrying about what the coach is saying to you.’”
“‘Every time you get in there, you bring the juice. You bring the energy. You bring the enthusiasm. You treat practice like a game.’ Because if you just decide to go out there and you’re blaming everybody else, where does that get you? So I started to change my attitude.”
“I didn’t have a lot of confidence in myself. And when you don’t have a lot of confidence in yourself, you blame other people. When you gain confidence in yourself, you start pointing the finger at yourself.”
“I would encourage every athlete to look in the mirror after every day of practice or a game and say, ‘What can I do better to help the team? What can I do better?’”
“Not, ‘What does the coach need to do better?’ Not, ‘What do my teammates need to do better?’, ‘What do I need to do better?’ If every player does that, you’re going to have an incredible team.”
“You can’t have a false confidence. You don’t only gain your confidence because of your physical ability. You gain your confidence because you’re prepared, because you’re competitive. I couldn’t just show up and be better than everybody.”
“I had to show up prepared. I had to show up with energy. I had to show up with my body feeling right. I had to show up like I was on a mission.”

Small Sided Games: Watching the World Cup? There are definite trends and themes when it comes to style of play at wnba and fiba levels. Recruits, take notice! Spread court, pace of play, versatility, movement without the ball, etc…. We want to teach our players to play the game and read defenses and to make each other better. Not run a bunch of sets. Lots of growth needed but I like the direction we are going. #growourgame

Damian Lillard explains why the opinion of others has never affected him
“Because I have a real life. I think that’s the best way to put it. I don’t live my life as Damian Lillard. I go home, I play with my kids. I go to my mom’s house. I hang out with my cousins.”
“I talk to my grandmother on the phone. My uncle calls me and we talk on the phone all night about just regular stuff. I have a life that’s stable and is not based upon who I am as an NBA player. I have real friends.”
“I’m not sitting there watching TV and hearing everything they’ve got to say like, ‘Oh, I probably should do this. I probably should do that.’”
“When my career is over, y’all are not about to be talking about me. Y’all are going to be talking about Luka Dončić, Ja Morant and Jayson Tatum, or whoever. Why am I going to be sitting here overly concerned with everything that every person has to say about me when they don’t know my life?”
“They don’t think about me when they get off that camera. And when I’m done playing, they won’t think about me. So why are they going to be thinking about me? Why would I be concerned with it?”
We run a tournament in where we stream all games on Hudl fan. Our district spends a ton a money on Hudl. So I thought I’d ask Hudl for sponsorship/donation.
Their response, we don’t do that but we can set y’all up with streaming and ticketing services to generate sponsors. Lol
In which I want to reply, would y’all be interested in being one of those sponsors. Lol
Over 20k spent by our district and I might think I’m low balling. And we can’t get a $1000 donation. Crazy.
All I see is Skip Pass Drill. IYKYK.

I got asked about the most difficult actions or play-types to defend in the NBA.
So, naturally, I wrote about why guarding a simple running pattern can be just so darn complex
On how teams are crossing up opponents by crossing low in transition

My last few years coaching we had some record-breaking 3pt seasons. most of our attempts came from natural flow our spread ball screen based attack
When specifically generating threes, we relied mostly on baseline drift action, flare/hammer screen, and overloads vs. zone
Basketball Twitter
What actions are you using to generate 3’s?
We’re all about, space and pace, paint touches and dominoes.
I’m asking more intentional “hunting” 3’s

We run “chin punch” regularly and force the defender to over the top so we can get the angle to seal
On this play, I like the point guard setting the back screen so in case they switch, big mismatch. You can see the intention. Even tho there wasn’t a switch

I really miss the basketball content era of twitter. Some golden times.
There’s still some and they do a good job but my timeline used to be flooded. Now you gotta go find it.
We had a real good off season/summer where our players were able to distinguish “families” and play out of different concepts in advantage situations. Off ball movement is key to lose defenders and create close out situations.

We tried something new this year with our offense...
Transitioned in 5-Out, which flowed into 4-out 1-in, which had the option to flow into Princeton. Had several actions in each alignment. Allowed for flexibility based on personnel. A big plus of concept-based offense.
