PHPStan will help you migrate to PHP 8 coming this fall It will point out usage of deprecated and removed language features. And the best part? You can prepare for PHP 8 even before you install it on your machine by setting phpVersion to 80000 in your phpstan.neon!

In #ddev v1.15+ the PHP_IDE_CONFIG environment variable is preset for you (to serverName=<yourproject>.ddev.site), so if you're using @Xdebug with command-line PHP scripts like drush, you don't have to manually set that any more.
