At the Aldershot Town v Gateshead match - 1-0. Gateshead are struggling, having lost 13 of their 15 National League matches this season. The match was preceded by a Remembrance parade and period of silence.
At St. Mary's Stadium, Southampton for the match against Bolton. Goalless but a good game to watch. A well-earned point for Bolton. Kevin Davies, who played for both sides, was interviewed before kick-off.
A display board on the railings outside Aldershot Town's ground records a dark day in Bolton's history when Aldershot condemned them to the fourth tier for the first time in their history.
At the match between Aldershot Town and Carlisle United today. A 3-1 win for Carlisle with some good finishing. The financial investigations involving Man. City are a million miles away from life in the National League, but today's match was as competitive as any in the top tier.

One historic event that can never be eclipsed is that Bolton's Kenny Davenport scored the first-ever Football League goal. A blue plaque in Bolton records the event, which happened on 8th September 1888.

Enjoyed the Southampton v Millwall match at St. Mary's Stadium, Saints winning 5-1. Southampton legend Matthew Le Tissier was having his photograph taken with a number of supporters next to the Ted Bates statue. Weatherwise, a bit of a damp and dreary day, but not so bad.
Thank you.
Thank you to those that came along this evening to help with our litter pick in Farnborough. We covered some of Croyde Close, Carmarthen Close, Caswell Close and Water Lane Park.

First league match of the new season - the League Two match between Barnet and Salford City, Barnet winning 3-1. Stopped off at Hampstead on the way back home to walk along Flask Walk, Holly Mount, Mount Vernon and Holly Walk.
The new football season got underway this week. Had a disrupted rail trip to Gillingham in Kent for the Carabao Cup 1st Round match at Priestfield Stadium against Luton Town - 0-3. Hadn't been to Priestfield for quite a number of years but it was pretty well just as I remember.
Yesterday's litter pick. Thank you for those that joined us.
We collected 17 bags of rubbish, a lawn mower, lots of wood, a canvas, 12 gas canisters and lots more.
The rubbish at the Prospect Centre has already been collected and that on Totland Close will be picked up Monday.

Another lovely rail day out to Molesey. Saw the confluence of the rivers Mole and Ember before they join the Thames, walked through Hurst Park, site of the racecourse until it closed in 1962, saw the Hurst Park gates in Graburn Way and then to the Diana Fountain in Bushy Park.
Super race meeting at sunny Sandown Park - Eclipse Stakes Day. A huge crowd and a vibrant, fun atmosphere. After-racing entertainment was a DJ set by Mark Wright.
Day out by bus and rail to Alton in Hampshire. Followed the River Wey from its source, through the town as it flowed to Weybridge to join the Thames. Re-visited the grave of the 8-year-old girl murdered at Alton in 1867. Most will have heard of her - Sweet Fanny Adams (Sweet FA).
