Oh dear - damage to plants in the Preston Circus planter. Vandalism by snails chomping through the young cosmos. But as the saying goes, if nothing is eating your plants, they’re not contributing to the ecosystem!
Our shady garden has revived and is looking positively tropical London Rd Station! But us gardeners aren’t enjoying the rain quite so much 🙃
Waking up after a year of very limited community gardening. Just planted up the planter near @DukeofYorks and had some lovely chats with passers-by wishing it well. If you can help with watering, get in touch!
How great is this?? 🥰 We absolutely love this user guide for Community Composting put together by Elspeth and Madeleine from London Road Station Community Composting! So informative, check it out 😊

Trying to encourage friendly co-existence between tomatoes and cucumbers in my greenhouse. They each have their own grow bags. They are fighting it out for light and space, though. Toms are winning - do they have a secret weapon, something they give off to dissuade other plants?
An Italian style veg soup - great for using cavalo nero, green beans, courgettes with basil, oregano and thyme - all growing madly in my garden!

Many adopters tell us how volunteering at their station has a positive impact on their mental health: being out in the open air, meeting new people & learning new skills. Our Uttoxeter adopters have created this peaceful garden space #VolunteersWeek #CommunityRail #mentalhealth

Celebrating the value #volunteers bring to our green spaces @VolunteersWeek. Thank you to every one who has continued to give their time and expertise #Brighton #Hove #parksmatter How much more do we appreciate our open spaces now!
Full of roses too and last year’s white osteospermum thriving in tree pits at London Rd station. All we need now is to mosaic our watering cans!
Happy #caturday everyone (comes around fast huh?!)
....this week's garden pics:
Shaniqua slouching about,
the roses have flounced into life, first strawberry is ready to eat and an old watering can has been mosaic-ed.
How's your week been?
Oh dear!
Just read the Government’s guidance for Safer Public Spaces, Urban Centres & Green Spaces. Seems another victim of Covid-19 will be ‘planters’ which are now considered an unnecessary obstacle assets.publishing.service.go…
May 31st and an empty table where seed trays and seedlings have been for the last 3 months. Now the challenge is watering!

The tree pit at LR station planted yesterday. Should be in full bloom soon: poppies, cosmos, sweet peas corn marigolds. Some of these from left-over @GrowWildUK seeds. Nature restores optimism!
Oh yes ... the courgette problem. Will try the postman. Have found a recipe for courgette bread and courgette cake: should make some inroads into the courgette mountain.
This year we’ve three courgette plants and masses of courgettes - Delivery men creep to the door, drop the parcel and run as we cry "have some courgettes, no please take more" allotment-garden.org/vegetab…
