One of my favourite ways to get a vibe for AI models coding ability (particularly it's ui preference) is via @lmarena_ai they have their WebDev arena which pits two AI's against each other, blindly and you pick which result you like the most.
You begin to learn the styles that particular AI uses, it helps you understand why people generally prefer Anthropic outputs. Both their 3.5 models, Sonnet & Haiku share a similar design style which is more aesthetically pleasing for sure.
I was also impressed with some of the new Gemini 2.0 Pro outputs, and Qwen Max, these are definitely a leap up compared to previous gen models also. But still just behind sonnet 3.5 overall, generally*
I was generally underwhelmed by the O3 mini high outputs, (particularly UI).
*It's a very useful exercise to show you that there isn't one "best" model, even though it's easy to say "Claude is the best" - Each prompt is different and getting opinions from other models is very useful.

Two other safety researchers and I were fired from OpenAI last week. We wrote this letter to leadership.
I believe we were fired for prioritizing safety over the near-term interests of OpenAI as a corporation.
Has anyone else noticed the best way to get results is to ask your agent "particularly claude" to clone "x" product? Some of them seem too freakishly similar to be a coincidence.. Makes you wonder.
Only use your computer if you really have to, use sticks and stones if you can to save the environment.
BREAKING: the UK government publishes official rules on how to use AI:
1. Ask first if you really need to use AI
2. Check if a spreadsheet can do the job before using AI
3. Choose the worst model possible so it uses less energy
4. Keep prompts short to reduce the environmental impact
5. In general, use AI only when necessary, as a climate-saving measure
With a mindset like this, we should accept the UK back into the European Union

i have to say, it's pretty cool being one of the top providers on openrouter
we serve more kimi k3 tokens than Moonshot itself. pretty wild.
Gemini 3.7 Flash is an extra 50% off exclusively on OpenRouter through August 27.
Based on our testing, we think @GoogleDeepMind’s new model will be especially competitive for multimodal and agentic workloads at OpenRouter’s price.
Fable with medium or high thinking and /goal, avoid ultracode / workflows if you want to not blow through your usage in one request.
Interesting time for Google & OpenAI, if you did have a Mythos level model ready to ship, would you ship it? Or wait until Anthropic has gone through the mess with the government for more clarity.
With the amount of supply chain attacks across different packages developing with Xanoscript keeps making more and more sense.
These benchmarks look a lil too good to be true, interested to hear how it performs under real-world usage.

Aiden - you clearly have no idea about what you are talking about. We have more users than everyone you just mentioned (combined). See aitooltracker.dev/
Still, I am curious how we can make it simpler and fool proof for indie developers. Maybe simpler controls and a lot of handholding can help.

AI agents shouldn’t be a black box.
Xano now supports OpenTelemetry for AI agents → trace every request, decision, and tool call in LangSmith, Langfuse, or Braintrust.
Zero setup. Instant visibility.

Catching up on some overdue accounting and didn't feel like uploading my statements to some random SaaS.
30 minutes with @xai grok-code-fast and I was able to get Deepseek ocr setup with MLX setup and have a full pipeline batch processing statements into CSV. Amazing i can do this all so easily locally.
Will setup a simple dashboard for categorisation now. Shoutout to xai for the free tokens.
With image generation models getting so good, every team needs a meme guy to keep morale high. @brandonhassler still undefeated.
I never realised how slow gpt5 models are over their API even mini and nano, how do people use this?

If you want to use more Codex after you hit your subscription limits, you can now buy credits as needed.
This is something we expect to do for compute-intensive features; it will let us keep subscription prices low for most users and let the rest of you go wild.
